The coverage on some of the TD passes Hartman threw was actually pretty good. We weren't looking for the ball, which is a big part of the process and technique, but those guys were right there. Some very good throws and very good catches; credit due to them.
However, there were several other throws where we just go burned, no two ways about it.
Overall, not as bad after seeing it again. It often isn't.

Some of the posters on TNET think because the patch on the opossing teams jersey doesn't read Big or SEC Clemson is supposed to dominate by 35 pts or more each time or we aren't playing well. I agree with you. The coverage was there; they just were on it. Wake was ready and came out and played probably above their heads a little bit. Or maybe they didn't because Wake is an experienced unit with the most experienced OL in CFB so Hartman had time to set his feet.
Give Wake credit and let's not act like the DB's were completely out of the picture. If we had a bunch of blown coverages it would be different. But, on many of those it was man coverage. We have 4 and 5 star DB's against more experienced but initially ranked 3-star WR's. Should have been a closer match instead because of a hot QB and solid OL the passes were pinpoint accurate and the young db's coverage wasn't good enough.
We'll be better because of what Wake did to the young secondary later on. Thanks Wake that will propel us forward!
