This is the greatest threat to our democracy that we have

actually neil,

Jun 18, 2022, 4:12 AM

the greatest threat to our democracy is our gradual economic decline, Trump just used this angst and fear against our waning middle class to take power. He is a symptom of worse things to come, if you would take your head out of his ass long enough to look at this objectively, I think might just be smart to see Jan 6 for what it was.

Jan 6 was a peaceful protest in which a few turned to rioting. Much like the other 560 riots. That’s what it IS.

The question is which group of people are actively and admittedly trying to change the USA and the gov't of the USA. Answer: democrats.

Conservatives and republicans want the same free democracy we have had for nearly 250 years. The democrats have vowed a fundamental transformation from a strong economic and military base to one based on bigger gubment picking winners and losers instead of the market. The gubment must invade every facet of our life so that it can guarantee the outcomes the elites see fit. The gubment wants to raise our kids and teach them what the left sees fit. The gubment, which will be run by the same dumba$$es we see in action today, can't do chit right, as usual.

You are the ones marching the USA to somewhere it has not been and away from the essence of why it was founded.

You have been conned.

The January 6 insurrectionists we’re trying to change the path of American government. If you don’t see this you are pathetically gullible.

Do you want a sitting POTUS in the future to organize a group of people and tell them to march to the capital to halt the operations of the legislative branch and threaten members with death? Tell me which piece of this scenario is remotely related to the last 250 years of our history. Smells like a rogue deep state, or shallow state, effort to me. About as un American as it gets.

Do you want to talk about government intervention?

Do you want Joe to intervene and fix gas prices? Or let the free market figure it out?

Do you want Joe to intervene and fix inflation in 190 countries around the world? Or let the free market figure it out?

Do you want government intervention?

Do you want government telling people who they can sleep with and who they can’t sleep with?

Do you want government telling a woman what to do with her body?

Do you want the government (Desantis) telling corporations (Disney) what they can and can’t say? Or would you prefer the free market determines Disney’s fate?

I can tell you where I stand. I am a free-market capitalist. Keep the government out of my effing business.

No, actually I want Joe to stay the fk out of everything. He IS the problem.

Trump didn’t instruct anyone to break the law. He was told that there was widespread fraud and some decisions were made “constitutionally” to address that. If he got bad advice from his advisors, it’s no different that Joe’s advisors telling him to raise taxes under record inflation. Bad idea. No one was there to “change” the govt, most were there to return the government to normalcy “in their minds”. And some were there to start ###, and they are in jail. People forget that the rioters were a small fraction of the crowd. Of trump ordered an attack, why didn’t the other 10’s of thousands attack? Or, why didn’t the ones that did, bring at least a a sling shot? Many states used “Covid” to break voting laws in their respective states, but you idiots don’t see a problem with that.

As far as DeSantis goes, he made Disney the same as all other businesses in FL. Wasn’t that what Disney wanted? Equality?

Hmm. Is it me that is ruining America right now? Nope. Is it you? If you voted for this ### show, yes; it is you.

Hey Indian Cheeef, you say

“He was told that there was widespread fraud and some decisions were made “constitutionally” to address that. If he got bad advice from his advisors,…….”

That is hilarious!

I don’t think you really believe this stuff. I think you’re a troll paid by Q anon or some nutcase. I can’t believe you’re a football fan sitting in South Carolina dumb enough to believe all this trumper stuff. But maybe I’m wrong.

Well... you asked...

Jun 18, 2022, 10:37 AM [ in reply to Re: actually neil, ]

Do you want Joe to intervene and fix gas prices? Or let the free market figure it out?

Answer: No, I want Joe Biden and his band of utopian environmental fantasy wackos to stop their current interventions and get out of the way of US Energy companies. Biden's intervention in US Energy production through EO's, regulation, and increased costs to produce energy have helped spike our gas/energy prices. If Biden and his friends would stop with the Government's intervention and obstacles to pipeline construction, investment in US energy companies, oil exploration, building new energy refinement/production facilities then things would be a lot better at the pump.

Do you want Joe to intervene and fix inflation in 190 countries around the world? Or let the free market figure it out?

Answer: If Joe would stop intervening in the Energy sector (as noted above) inflation would come down. Secondly, if Joe would stop pushing for $trillions more in Government spending and handouts, and worse - defending that idiotic spending (see his recent comments to the AFL-CIO) that would also reduce our inflation. Thirdly, Joe Biden has been in Government for over 40 years and is part of the elitist political class whose decades of printing money to pay for Government expenditures (to the tune of $30 trillion in debt) is big reason we are in the shitstorm of inflation we see today. He and those of his ilk ARE THE PROBLEM AND HAVE BEEN FOR YEARS.

Do you want government intervention?

Answer: Typically NO. In fact I don't want the Federal Government in most activities they are involved in today. A strict interpretation and implementation of the 10th Amendment would do a lot to return us to a society where unwanted and intrusive Government intervention is quickly put in check. The most responsive governance has always been at the local and State level. Returning to our true Federalist system roots with most Governmental power residing in the States would halt the vast majority of today's Government interventions into our lives. Unfortunately practically every societal issue is consumed by the Federal Government as something to be decided at a national level. When the States ratified the Constitution this was never the intention as they would have never agreed to subordinate themselves to this much Federal power. We would all be better served if the Federal Government's power, influence, and growth were significantly reduced and returned to the select things for which it was originally intended (National defense, interstate commerce etc...).

Do you want government telling people who they can sleep with and who they can’t sleep with?

Answer: Of course not - what consenting adults do in privacy is their business. But this isn't about consenting adults and their personal/private behavior anymore is it. I don't want the Federal Government imposing their chosen moral agenda on me or my kids by indoctrinating and sexualizing my children and grandchildren under the facade of "public education". Especially when many of those children have not even reached puberty. I also don't want the Government telling and forcing me to accept or endorse certain sexual behavior and lifestyles especially when those lifestyles are in conflict with my religious and moral beliefs. Furthermore, I don't want my Government telling and forcing me to participate in someone's mental delusion through such utter fallacies that biological men are women and vice versa. If people want to engage in homosexuality, cross-dressing, or whatever floats their boat, I don't care and it is a "live and let live" proposition. However, when these lifestyle choices are being thrown in my face and the Government tells me I must fund, participate in, or endorse these lifestyles or face negative consequences - then it is tyranny.

Do you want government telling a woman what to do with her body?

Answer: Do you want the Government telling us what vaccines and medications we must put in our bodies in order to participate in society?

Do you want the government (Desantis) telling corporations (Disney) what they can and can’t say? Or would you prefer the free market determines Disney’s fate?

Answer: I don't want the Government picking winners and losers in the corporate world - period. Government intervention through "crony capitalism" is rarely beneficial to the general public or free market economy. In the case you mention with Disney, Disney was granted special tax, land, and self-governance privileges from the State Government of Florida that their competitors (e.g. Universal) were never provided. Disney got in bed with the Government in 1967 and tremendously profited from it for 55 years. That fact that Florida, through it's elected officials, decided to remove those special privileges is not "telling corporations what they can and can't say" but instead is a well learned lesson in the fact that "what Government gives it can take away". There was nothing free market about that Disney Reedy Creek special district and the fact that it is being dissolved IS a return to the free market that others like Universal have had to contend with all these years.
