Clemson just passed Ga Tech for 17th on the all times win list. I figure within three years, we can pass aTm and Va Tech for 15th and set our eyes on West Virginia.
Meanwhile, congrats to our "rivals" in Cooterville for passing Vandy for 55th place. That leaves them just 3 wins behind App State, 4 wins behind Kentucky, and 17 wins behind the powerhouses of Central Michigan and Tulsa.
Yet, to hear a coot, they are relevant in football.

We have beat many on those teams in the top 15. Auburn, Bama, OSU, UGA, Penn State, and West Virginia ( Just ask Major Harris’s Mom) lol
I was surprised FSU was so far down the list. It was rumored that the year or two before Bobby Bowden became FSU’s HC the administration was considering dropping Football. Wow what a difference B.B. made at FSU.
Go Tigers! The best is yet to come even though we are cycling downward per Todd Ellis. I hope he is a smarter lawyer than he is about Sports.

Florida State’s first season of football was not until 1947. Most of the teams on that list ahead of them have been playing football for around half a century longer.

I think it was time for Bobby Bowden to go. They wouldn't have another national championship if they wouldn't have made that move and brought in Jimbo. Although I did enjoy beating up on FSU when Bobby Bowden was on his way out and just collecting checks

Even if you won all 14 games “at clemson” you will still be 10 games upside down to UGA.
UGA has historically owned Clemson. Period.

You have 1 national title. Period.
Clemson has 2. period.
But okay, we will play this game. You say that UGA has a legitimate argument to claim 2 national titles. These criteria are based on the idea that UGA was the consensus national champion in 1980, and also had a season record in another where they earned "#1 honors" from some polls due to their overall record that year. That is your logic in claiming 2, correct?
In that case, by your logic, Clemson would have 2 consensus national titles, and an addition 6 claimed national titles. Still better.
Now, back to reality.
UGA has played in 1 national title game and won 1 national title (1980)
Clemson has played in 4 national title games (1958, 1981, 2015, 2016) and won 2 national titles.
In this stat alone, Clemson is the significantly better program.
Likewise, I can show you many other stats as to why Clemson has the better program. Before 2015, some would argue its a toss up. Now, it is undisputed who is the better program.
At this point, the only leg up (try not to hump it, mkay?) UGA has is your 1 Heisman winner, but thats really more a testament to the individual athlete, not the overall program.

You're right, UGA is a significantly inferior academic institution.
While Clemson's academics are ranked among Stanford, Georgia Tech, and Virginia, yours are hovering somewhere down near Auburn and Ohio State.
BTW, Clemson is also about as selective as Stanford in its school acceptance as well.

Not really. Until the last 3 years National Titles were completely subjective and they require an immense amount of luck. Just like Clemson a last ear when the kid from NC State missed that chip shot by a few inches or when Scarborough broke his leg. You can win a ton of games and not have the luck needed.

So ... Clemson misses two easy FGs and loses to Syracuse by 3 points and it's Clemson's fault, but NC State misses an easy FG and loses to Clemson ... and it's STILL Clemson's fault. Got it.
And Clemson loses a key player in Mackenzie Alexander in 2015 and it gets hardly a mention, but Bo Scarborough (one of 2-3 of their 5-star RBs) goes down for Bama the next season, and suddenly it's the difference in the game. Got it.

Didn't say it was Clemsons fault. Just said you got lucky. Very few teams have not relied on luck to win a title. 95 Nebraska, 01 Miami. Teams that truly dominated. Teams that skirt by like 16 Clemson needed help.
