ACC Coastal is better than SEC East this year and here's why...

Nov 18, 2013, 1:49 PM

ACC coastal's 5th place team beat a healthy Florida team worse than the SEC east's to be 1st place team beat a Florida team missing 1/3 of their starters, and the 3rd string QB. BAM.

And had to start the 3rd string QB... excuse me.***

yay, I love the transitive property, let me try...

FSU beat Clemson by 37. They only beat Pitt by 28, BC by 14, NC State by 32, and Miami by 27...So that means Clemson is at best the 5th best team in the ACC.

Am I doing it right?

Incorrect application of the transitive property pal.

given:
FSU > Clem

and:
Clem > BC
Clem > NCST

therefore:
FSU would beat BC and NCST

The winning margin argument only holds water between FSU and Clemson. I think it's clear that FSU is the best in the conference, and since no other team in the conference has beaten Clemson, then the argument of being in 5th place because of winning margin doesn't hold significance.

Your words

are too many syllables. He won't understand.

"You are wrong. Clemson play BC and NC St. Clemson won both. Please wash hands after cleaning out the trash."

Hopefully he gets it now. The last part is just something I always try to remind them.

No you're doing it wrong. Must be 3 teams with head to head comparisons, with 1 team being the x factor (not have played one of the compared to teams head to head.

We beat NC state and BC straight up, and Pitt and Miami are in the Coastal, so we stay at 2nd in the Atlantic.

Maybe if the setup were similar to the Big 12 and there were no divisions, your theory would apply, but that's not the case here... so it has no legs - and thus, the ACC Coastal still overwhelmingly trumps the SEC Least.

Re: ACC Coastal is better than SEC East this year and here's why...

Nov 18, 2013, 3:53 PM

ok...I was wrong to include NCSU and BC

I'm clearly being sarcastic as no sane person would actually believe the nonsense I posted, I was just trying to point out it's a little ridiculous to try and point out that one team or division is better than another based on margin of victory of two team over a common opponent that don't even play each other

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I actually agree with you, it's hard to compare teams that

Nov 18, 2013, 3:56 PM

don't play one another. Also point for keeping it classy with no personal attacks

Why are you arguing, he's making the case that the Heels division is better than the not so mighty SEC?

Do not forget Coot Logic 484:

The SEC is better than the ACC because:

S is the 19th letter in the alphabet and is of higher rank than the letter A, per Cocky.

Injuries with Miami

Nov 19, 2013, 1:04 AM

Miami's injuries with WR Phillip Dorsett and RB Duke Johnson have really hurt them on their offensive side of the ball.
