He has made Clemson a much better place! No one is perfect, and Clemson has some issues that needed correcting...

racism right now - POOF! GONE! - the issues that plague the black community would roll on unabated without a drastic change in behavior and thought on their behalf.

Do you think the actions of yesterday would have taken place without Deshaun & Nuk being outspoken? Or if Deshaun & Nuk were making $40k per year instead of multi-millionaire NFL’ers? We know yesterday would not have happened. If you believe otherwise, why had it not happened already. Jim’s been here awhile so he’s had the time to already have made that happen. Everything always revolves around $$$$ and Jim always has his hand out.

the UCB name as an extra-qualifier. As in, this is even truer, since I am a Berkeley professor! It fits nicely in with the victimized conservative narrative that is popular today, too, especially with our President.
I could be wrong, but it smells fishy

Extremely well-written and without much invective. It does make some very valid points.
I definitely agree with the author in that there needs to be more room for counter-arguments, and that over-zealousness towards a narrow view of political orthodoxy can be every bit as toxic and dangerous as over-conservatism.
I do, however, disagree strongly with the notion that "Floyd was a bad guy and predictably met a bad end." Floyd was no angel and I don't think most perceive him as such. The problem was he got casually snuffed out by cops - who are supposed to be enforcing the law! right there on the street...and if this author doesn't understand why that got everybody up in arms, I don't know what to say to him.

Absolutely!!! It doesn't matter who or what George Floyd was or wasn't bc his life was still taken by a bad cop that had full intentions of causing GF pain and suffering before he was ever convicted anything, even before before he had been properly booked for committing a crime. A bad cop made himself judge, jury, and executor. He took away George Floyd's right to a fair and impartial trial by a jury of his peers. George Floyd's constitutional rights were taken away from the very moment his hands were handcuffed behind his back, taking away his right to fight for his life with his hands being handcuffed behind his back. The cop/cops in the arrest of George Floyd did IMO commit the act of 1st degree manslaughter!!!!

It was a despicable act, but what does it have to do with race, other than it was a black man and a white cop?

I'll ask the most obvious question: if it's anonymous how do we know it's by a Professor and not a well-diciplined crack addict?
