A couple of days removed from my spontaneous post Saturday

Ashamed of my gut reactions during the game. I can’t even blame it on the booze because I rarely drink and I never drink during the game. My primary reason is I have so much faith in this team and these young men that are great athletes, it’s hard to watch them struggle so mightily. They simply cannot get out of their own way.
I have said it before and will say it again. Leadership on the field has to happen or this team will continue to lose against lesser teams. We all know that Clemson is by far the most talented group on the field every week against ACC opponents. However, this team plays well below their collective capabilities and does not execute the gameplan.
We all watch the game and while yes the playcalls are not always what we want but the plays are there. Bad pass, dropped pass, missed tackles, not tracking the football are FARRRR to common for a team so full of skill.
Having said that, they are still young men that make mistakes. I’m just not used to Clemson not playing at a high level so it’s hard to watch.

I don't know what you said, but the fall from elite to mediocre usually happens quick when it starts. I grew up hard. Tough love is all I know. To me, patting someone on the back when they did not give maximum effort is not love. It is enabling. Making excuses for failure is not love. Whether one sunshine pumps or speaks the cold hard truth, we still love Clemson. Both sides should understand that. I believe this year is our LSU year. When they were loaded, they steam rolled everyone. Without that elite talent, their lack of fundamental soundness was exposed. I am not crazy about T E. Play calling or his scheme, but it can work. Where he fails is in either the recruit evaluation or the player development department. Either way, it's on him.
