A cost effect solution to protect our children in school!!
May 27, 2022, 11:35 AM

Why can't our government have trained military soldiers that are in the national guards that are in about every county in the country. Have one of them guys to guard a school once or twice a month, and there should be enough of those Guardsman, and if there isn't, just hire an X combat soldier to cover for any shortage. And if I personally knew any members of our government, that is what I would suggest bc, these people that are being hired to protect our children, most are there for a pay check, and they don't have the courage to protect themselves in a life or death situation, much less our children in the schools around the country. And Guardsmen already get paid for as long as they're in the Guard.
If you don't know it now, you should, that those types of people that want to hurt other people, they will find, and get those types of weapons even if all gun stores has been forced to close down. There isn't just one answer, there isn't a dozen answers when those Demented/Psycho types of people have their mind set, and their sights on a place where they can destroy other people regardless of their age, they just want to kill or be killed, and they will get the tools needed to do that, period!!!

There is no reason to change coaches until the recruiting disadvantage is resolved. Clemson must be able to give full scholarships to all baseball players to recruit the players that can win ACC and National Championships.

Why is this on the football board?
Why did someone respond with a baseball reply?
Why does the OP assume the Dems want to solve the issue? The agenda is to disarm us...not to protect our children

Our budget is $4.5T so the Ukraine needs all of our money is a strawman argument.

There was a cop on campus in Uvalde... lots of good that did. Then there were 19 cops in the hallway waiting for 40 minutes to storm the classroom. How many kids bled out during that delay? Our society must do something to slow and stop these monsters PRIOR to their getting into the church/school/grocery/concert/mall that they have targeted. Arming some of these petite teachers will be impossible. A couple of angry HS linebackers could shake down a teacher in 30 seconds flat and take a gun and ammo from her. How about we raise the min age to purchase weapons. Limit, track, and/or tax ammo purchases. Require a license or training to possess a high capacity rifle. Make background checks more thorough to exclude anyone with mental health prescriptions or treatment. I know these are all a pain in the butt for law abiders, but consider what we have to do just to get on a plane after 9/11. It sucks but it put an end to plane hijackings asap. To sit by and watch grandmas at the grocery store and 10 year olds in their classrooms get slaughtered is a pathetically lazy and callous existence.

all of our schools, decked out in full gear. Maybe an M1 Abrams tank positioned just outside the school entrance...
Nah, I know what you're saying. But dang, the world sure has changed a lot in just one generation. Our biggest worries was that the teachers would take our smokes or catch us cutting class...

I was in 5th grade after Columbine happened, we had active shooter drills every year after. Someone would come on the intercom and say Red White or something and we’d go into lockdown and shelter in the classroom. Fast forward to when I’m a senior in HS, I went to the bathroom during Spanish class and evidently some guy robbed a credit Union up the street and they thought he might run across campus so they lockdown it, and I’m in there when over the intercom I hear the same thing so I’m like I need to get back to my classroom. Teacher wouldn’t let me in the room, she was like I can’t let you in. Ok thanks so what do I do now?

When a lockdown occurs, teachers are trained to check the halls for any students in transit, get them in a room, and lock the door. As a student , you should have been instructed to get to the closest classroom for shelter. If you are still in the hall after the doors are secured, yes you are in your own.

Biden can send $40 B to a slimy terd who kicks it back to Raytheon... He could fund an armed cop to every school in the USA! USA! USA! for a year for that money. But he doesn't care about your kids...The federal government eats spit...

give everyone a gun....the janitors, lunch ladies, teachers....anyone. Not just double-barrel shotguns though that would be boring, give them all machine guns with high-volume magazines.
The more guns in schools the better, right? Right.

It was a chaotic seen, different agencies use different radio channels, it was a cluster fluke. The local commander messed it up and there going to get him for it. I’m not saying arm all teachers, wouldn’t hurt for a few to be.

Both teachers in the classroom died along with the students and they had no way to stop the shooter once he came into the classroom. One trained and armed teacher in that classroom could have made a difference and it could not have ended any worse than it did. BTW, the state of Texas allows trained teachers to be armed in classrooms but it's up to the school district to implement.

Airports, Courthouses, and govt buildings? Ok so how many of them are in each county in every state in the US and your plan is to do that in every school?

As an educator, there are some teachers who I would I not want to arm with a gun. Just saying. Especially if there’s not type of training to go with it.

It’s simple and there is no reason that an elementary school can’t be safe . Keep all doors locked at all times and have a armed guard at the entrance with a metal detector. Just like at the court house, simple and easy .

They would probably would just kill the guard at the detector if it were like the dude in TX. I agree though that it would make things safer overall though. Also, that teacher in TX had the door propped open in the back. They just have to have some protocols they follow religiously.
