7 out of 9 ex-tigers have found homes in first portal window

Dec 21, 2022, 1:18 PM

With the announcement of Sergio Allen to Cal within the last hour, 7 of the 9 portal entries from Clemson have found new places to play next fall. The last two remaining homeless at this point are DJU and EJ Williams. I feel like DJ will likely find a home within the next week or so...however, will Williams be able to find a landing spot?

Lets hear your thoughts.

Good, & hope the 2 remaining find homes; want the best...

for all former Tigers.

Too many[40%?] will be left out in the cold, clock still ticking with no scholarship available.

Most teams are happy to get players who were good enough to be signed by Clemson.

EJ has had some injuries & lost opportunities

He arrived with some skill sets and was outstanding as aa freshman. Unfortunately due to injuries, DJ just did not develop as many including me were expecting. That said, he has two years and can benefit many Div. 1 schools if healthy. That is the big question.

Williams has the potential to be a great receiver. He just needs to focus on improving, making each catch when he has an opportunity, and looking through the windshield at what's in front of him, not in the mirror at what's behind him.

EJ...

played in all thirteen of Clemson's games this season. He had seven catches for seventy yards.

He entered this season with 33 catches for 372 yards and 2 TD's over 20 games. He missed four games last year due to injuries and he was out for the Cheez-It Bowl because of COVID. He also missed all of spring practice because of an injury.

I think the decrease in snaps and targets this year is really what prompted the transfer. That coupled with the return by Collins, Stellato, Antonio Williams, Randall, Ngata (potentially), Turner, and Taylor.

Loads of potential if he can stay on the field. I definitely think there are some schools, particularly FCS programs, that will be more than willing to give him an opportunity.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Good for all of them - wish them the best.
