2022 recruiting class

Jul 1, 2021, 10:49 AM

Is it just me or are y’all kind of worried about our class for 22? It seems a little slow right now with this cycle…. Also I just checked this morning and coots have a higher ranked class for 22 right now…..###?!?!?

Things will pick up after the ALL-IN Cookout. We will be in good shape with recruiting, I hope.

I'm not worried. Seems there are other strong P-5 teams that are slow.

I think we are in good shape, but I will say the coots are doing well in recruiting. They are getting a large number of good players, some or most of whom we would not offer.

No ones concerned about the coots. The top player they have “committed” is only better then 1 player in Clemson’s class and that players the kicker. I’m sure they’ll lose most of the guys once the season starts and the loses pile up like always.

Relax and just enjoy the guys we get, this class is very unique because of Covid and the lack of visits last year, we've had to go even slower than usual and so are the commits. Word on the streets is we have at least 2 5 star silent commits--just let it all play out and enjoy it!!!

Re: 2022 recruiting class

I believe we're in a pretty good spot with Jeremiah Alexander (5-star DE) and Keon Sabb (5-star safety). I am no recruiting expert, but believe both have been high on Clemson recently. Clemson Paw believed both could announce before their senior seasons started. He also had them as his last recruits at the end of his two recent recruiting updates, hinting there was a precedent that the last recruits in previous updates ended up being tiger commits.

IF the tigers received those two commits, we'd have an average recruit rating of .9338 and team ranking of 204.5 for 24/7 sports. Those numbers would put us squarely in the top 5-10 range nationally currently. Additionally, if we can win some of the recruiting battles with UNC for Shaw, Everette and Lukus (all top 50 recruits per 24/7), the tigers will be just fine.

Re: 2022 recruiting class

No. I think it will end up a well rounded great class. We have some studs on our team that have a couple years left in their starting roles. I think this class will be top 10. Next years class will be top 5. It's just how recruiting goes depending on depth charts.

Re: 2022 recruiting class

South Carolina is only higher because they have 12 total commits compared to our 8. I wouldn't say their class is better though considering we have 7 4 stars with 1 3 star, and they have 2 4 stars with 10 3 stars. There's no way their coaches and fans wouldn't swap classes with ours right now if they had the chance to do so.

^^^This....you can't go by those site ranking systems bc they value quantity over quality. The Tiger's class is light years better than usuck's even with fewer recruits.

Nope. Plenty of guys still uncommitted. Also until guys sign on the dotted line they aren’t really members of a schools class. ??????? Still can have a lot of moving and grooving.

Re: 2022 recruiting class

Jul 1, 2021, 4:11 PM

Nah. No worries at all. It may be that we only go after about 17 signees, but the quality scoring of those guys will be in the top 5.
Our one 3-star is a highly touted kicker.

Better go to 247 & actually take a look at the talent differences, they aren’t in the same dimension with Clemson. If they had two of our recruits they would be their highest two recruits lol!

We are waiting on high 4 & 5 stars while they are just hoping for a 3 star. If it wasn’t for our # 2 in the Nation 3 star kicker we would be at the very top of highest quality recruits!

Coots are pitiful

I'm only slightly worried because 247 has us ranked fourth in the ACC with frickin BC, and VT ahead of us, and what in the hell is Free Shoes U ranked third in the nation???

Re: 2022 recruiting class

It’s July - a lot will change between Sept and Dec once some of these coaches’ products are actually on the field and we’re skull stomping teams on our way to another CFP appearance. The UofSCar that Beamer is selling right now, for instance, will be very different than the one he’s apologizing for in homes all over the state months from now and into ‘22.

We’ve lost many h2h battles with Alabama, UGA, and even Ohio State, before this cycle and we’ll lose more. The biggest flag at this point is UNC’s emergence on the trail. They’ve been a hat on the table for a lot of these regional studs before, but now they’re in pole position with a lot of them, which hasn’t been the case ever in the Dabo era.

If they have a big year, which is in the cards, it could accelerate. I want them in Charlotte at the end, with all the attention, all the pressure, that comes with a game like that, a de facto CFP quarterfinal.

… and then we bully them, with everyone watching.

Also, the NIL angle adds an new element to consider in the scouting process as far as id’ing Clemson “fits.” It’ll all be very interesting.

They also have 15 commits. We have what 8? Let’s compare in December.

Re: 2022 recruiting class

Jul 6, 2021, 2:18 PM

Yes. We are also positioned very well with some elite talent in 23. The coaches know the numbers. They know what they are doing. Just sit back and wait til December. I promise you'll like what you see.

Okay, I wasn't worried before but I'm starting to get concerned. Dabo needs to step his game up or he'll be looking for a job in a year or two.

Haha way to come back to an old thread to make fun of it! Kudos bc this thread didn’t age well at all. We have landed the best secondary class in the nation and still have a few more big fish we will go to the end for.
