2022 NFL QB Poll

Apr 27, 2022, 12:43 AM

A little test of football prognostication for Tiger brethren ... select the QB you believe will have the best NFL career. I like Howell with Corral having the most upside/downside ...

2022 QB Draft Pick who will have top NFL Career    [Results]

Kenny Pickett
Malik Willis
Matt Corral
Desmond Ridder
Sam Howell

I’m not voting.

Weakest class in IDK how long.

I have to agree there. That is the reason Kenny Pickett came

Apr 27, 2022, 12:50 PM

back for another year. He would have been a midround choice at best, last year. Now, he is being projected as a high FIRST rounder. Even on a rookie deal, huge difference in dollars there.

I don't see a single QB in this whole draft who I would consider to be a bona fide long term starter in the NFL.

And I think a couple of them, mainly Sam Howell and Kenny Pickett, have already gotten as good as they will ever be. The talking heads call that "High Floor, Low Ceiling". In other words, a "Journeyman" at the position.

I have a real problem with Pickett on this list, albeit correct in terms of ranking. Pickett could have led his team to a bowl victory, but he chose himself over the team.

I know this won’t resonate with some, but decisions like this fall into an area of intangible category that still matters in the NFL draft. In my view Pickett really hurt himself.

ddraines® I hear you. Now you have me looking at this differently. Pickett really made some money by coming back for his sr year.

i choose pickett not because i think he will be any good, but because he will probably earn the most money either through bad rookie contract or sitting the bench. for me best nfl career=most money made in this scenario because i don’t think any of them listed will ever be multi year nfl starters

If Kenny goes to Steelers he’ll rob them blind on rookie contract

I don't think there is a long term starter in the bunch on only see a couple of them making it as a backup.

We would have won a Natty last year if Kenny Picket was

No true Kenny bites though with WF QB Natty by several TDs

Looks like Pickett in a Landslide

Apr 27, 2022, 10:37 PM

Though most poll voters thoroughly unimpressed at this year's QB crop. A couple of thoughts ...

1) I went with Howell as he had a better 2020 than Pickett did 2021. But UNC lost 4 skill players to NFL last year. Maybe he should have left with them.
2) Pickett made some money coming back in 2021 as he should make some draft money he would not have last year.
3) Some anonymous scout/mgr said today that Corral looks like the next Johnny Manziel. Meaning some team may really like him to drop ala Marino and Aaron Rodgers?
4) These scouts/teams/GM's seem to have a he11uva time selecting the top QB's. Josh Rosen and Sam Bradford were going to be the best class ever. Trubisky somehow got picked ahead of Mahomes & DW4.

Talk about an inexact science. A lot of mystery. We'll see what happens ...
