2021 versus 2022 Tiger defense?

Dec 2, 2021, 4:11 PM

Which will be better? Losing the Bruise Bothers creates big void in leadership and ensuring guys in the right place. But…some studs behind them. Also uncertain about who on front 4 ops for draft. Thoughts about next years D vs this year’s?

Lost William and Michael Dean Perry in the 80's. We're fine***

I believe our secondary next year is going to make that one of the best defenses we’ve ever seen

I'm more concerned about CB than DL.

Should be another dominate Defense

Replacing Booth will be very difficult. He is lockdown

If Davis and Bresee can stay healthy they will best tandem in ACC and possibly nation

LBs overall talent will be higher just need experience (Bentley/Simpson/Trotter/Carter)

D this year was pretty darn good. With some offensive production, they could have been even better. I think we take an ever so slight step back next year on D.

I give a slight edge of improvement to 2022. As mentioned above, we need Bresee, Murphy, etc to stay healthy, and hopefully 1 or 2 of the phenom incoming DBs to be fast learners and contribute.

Ask this question next year, and I will say that the defense will take a step back in 2023. Unless we recruit some plug and play DL in ‘23 ( as Bresee and Murphy proved to be),
