2021 UGA-Clemson game possible title game rematch

I know I'm getting ahead of myself here, but if Clemson and UGA play for the title this year, and then start 2021 against each other; would that be the first time there was a national championship rematch to start the next season? It seems unprecedented, but I didn't know if anyone could think of any other cases.

I know the ACC was down last year, but do you think all of CFB will be down this year to a level to allow UGA to make it to the NC game?

You're right, I'm getting way ahead of myself putting UGA in the title game. It's that time of year where the recruiting rankings, national media, and UGA drum beaters online are leading me to believe that this will be the year that UGA will have a competent offense, Mark Richt...I mean Kirby Smart will finally outwit Saban, and enough bounces will go their way that they beat South Carolina. I'll be deleting this post in September when I actually watch them play again!

I made this same post yesterday and quickly discovered that the football gurus on tnet have already figured out what will happen next year. I bet coach Smart doesn’t realize how bad his team will be.

I thought surely you were referring to the 1982 game where we entered the field at UGA as the reigning National Champions to be beaten by UGA who were the rising National Champions. That's the game that made me hate them with a passion and I've never gotten over it.

It sure would be epic if it worked out that way!
But, I put the chances of UGA making the title game at slim-to-none. I have zero faith in Kirby's ability to coach UGA to that level of consistency on a weekly basis.
