2019 Road Trips

May 8, 2019, 2:48 PM

Kind of blah. Really looking forward to going back to UNC, just because its been so long since we've played in Chapel Hill (forgettable disaster in 2010). Other than that, would you recommend Syracuse or Louisville as the better Road Trip destination?

(South Carolina and NC State are disqualified from this conversation; SCAR for obvious reasons, and NCSU because they're the white trash of the ACC who can spit on the refs, but not me)

Louisville is one of our favorites. The other is Boston College. I've never been to Syracuse so I don't really have an opinion. We're thinking of doing the N.C. State game this year.

Because I live in the southern tier of NY, I have been to the Sara Kuse game 2 times. Impossible to park near the stadium. A pretty efficient bus shuttle system to get you from lot to dome and back. Tailgating has been a challenge. Very cold first time and very windy both times. Had better tailgate in the pouring rain at Clemson vs GT in 2015(week after ND game). The sound in the dome sucks and blows. Air handling equipment, not air conditioning, is loud. Some fans are very ignorant, get loaded before the game and can buy beer at the game. Fans, lead by cheerleaders, continued to cheer while Kelly Bryant laid injured on the carpet. Most games I've been to at any level you can hear a pin drop when a player is down. My wife said she would never go again but reconsidering because its 3 hours away and we love to watch them play and only get to 1 home game a year and possibly a bowl game. If you have never been up this way, its a great road trip. 2 hrs to Niagara Falls, casinos nearby, baseball hall of fame no far, many local breweries/distilleries to visit if you're into that. Met more Tigers than I thought from all over the northeast and Canada. Anything else?

I was at that game in 2015. You pretty much nailed it. I live about 5 hours away in Philly so I might make it back this year. My brother lives in Elmira, NY but he doesn't want to go back because of their fans.

I grew up 15 minutes from Elmira! Been to Syracuse a few times and never had trouble with their fans. The carrier dome was the first place I ever saw a college football game so it has a special place in my heart!

Hitting chapel hole this year. Lousyville was second choice.

Have been to louisville before and the riverfront area is beautiful. Have no idea where the university or stadium are located!

Really thinking about going to Louisville this year, been there but not to a game. Of course Chapel Hill, hope we turn that place orange.

I'm going with a big group of guys I work with to the UNC Game. They are almost all unc fans since I reside in Eastern NC. I hope its a lot better trip than the 2010 trip was. My Dad said he was never going back to Chapel Hill after that. I think he has mellowed with age & Tiger success ??
