2 reasons why I think Booth didn't go in the 1st rd

None of them has anything to do with talent because he's got plenty of that.

1. Injuries: Hamstring issues have plagued him. He had a rep for being hurt a lot and then he misses the entire pre-draft process due to an injury. The best ability is availability.

2. On the field altercations. He got ejected as a Frosh for punching a guy and brawling with him during the game. This year somebody punched him while he was on the ground. Although he didn't appear to be the aggressor in the 2nd incident, it leads you to question his character as to why these type of incidents keep occurring.

Booth plays with a lot of passion is by far the best tackling corner in this draft. Somebody's going to get a guy that can really help their team in a lot of areas.

agree with you on #1, not sure about #2 yes he did something stupid his freshman year but I think that long ride back from UL on the equipment bus by himself taught him a lesson. Anyway, not being able to go through the draft workouts due to injury had to hurt him.

#2 is probably correct, their seems to be concern with him being poised at the NFL level with aggressive receivers

Schedule weakness too. Just a handful of good teams they had tape on.

At least half of the 1st round picks would have played a weaker schedule than Clemson. Cincinnati, 4 ACC Schools, 4 PAC12 Schools, Northern Iowa, Tulsa to name a few. And most of the picks would have had less playoff game exposure.

And Cincy schedule & level of competition?

I missed it. I felt Booth was a first round talent. And I still believe Booth will have a 1st round type NFL career.

He may end up being the best Corner in the draft after they put pads on and play. Who knows. There is a laundry list of HOFers and All Pros drafted after the 1st Rd. As a Chicago Bears fan, I can assure you that GMs and NFL scouts are wrong quite often.

Somebody is going to get a steal with Booth. Hate that he dropped but he is a true talent.

I did not realize he was thought of as a possible 1st rounder. He was a solid player player and will be missed. I feel that game at Louisville has been water under the bridge for a good while but I’m no GM.
