1st time turning on game day in a couple of years. When did it get this bad?

I don’t like Fowler but dang was better than this l. They don’t even talk about football

Folks have an alternative but enjoy bitching about ESPN too much.

The hype girl/handtalker(can I call her a girl? Does ESPN allow gender labels?) is pretty much a trainwreck.

Cut the show down to 90 mins, clear the filler (except for Marty's segments) and stick to football.

and I was struck by the same thing. Ponder was solid and I always thought Maria Taylor did a really good job despite the hate she would get here. But this one struck me as very unprepared and amateurish.

I still like it. Big Noon Kickoff is good as well though. Anyway. Back to Gameday. They should scrap Corso and McAfee.

what’s worse is almost every gameday at some point the crowds of kids start chanting classless obscenities, or political crap. It’s so disappointing to see our countries youth behave in such an immoral, unethical, and disrespectful way.

Sad how our once great society has freefallen into this disrespectful norm.

What the hell are you talking about?

Sep 17, 2022, 12:54 PM

Pretty sure I have seen countless people on here say how vulgar their chants in the 70s and 80s were and how “soft” todays youth has become.

Are they soft or unethical m? Which is it. You guys can’t keep track

I stopped watching about four years ago, but would tune in and watch when they would be at a Clemson game. I’ve not watched one minute since the BLM ?. They are nothing but a bunch of liberals. I only watch games I care to see on E$ecPN. Other than that, I watch nothing E$ecPN.

I remember when they were pimping BLM along with the usual liberal posters on this site. Snowflaking, crying about defunding the police. I enjoyed them more when they wore mask and locked themselves in their safe place. Lord help them if they can’t ever depend on the government to tell them whether to wipe before or after sitting to pee

I watch gameday every chance I get. Several times a year the entire show, and literally never see anything political.

Well then flip on back over to foxnews and call it a day

Sep 17, 2022, 12:37 PM

I didn’t get to watch all of it today but what I saw was pretty good; and I didn’t see any politics or social justice commentary at all.

Agree though, not a fan of Pat Mcafee they really shoulda left pollack on the desk when coach is taking a break. Also, they took a flyer on that new crowd reporter and she’s really not that good. I’m not sure how being a peloton coaches qualifies one to be sports reporter. They have a lot of good people already in the fold like Jen Lada or Katie George that woulda made more sense.

I agree. It’s stale and needs an overhaul. The new guy is bad and loves to hear himself talk. Best thing they could do is give him a lollipop.

Venues and crowd energy make the show.

Content is a rerun every week.

2024 white level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Listen I don’t love the gameday show either

Sep 17, 2022, 1:14 PM

But it seems like a weird target for political/anti-ESPN frustrations. It’s still a cool thing they do to bring college football energy to different parts of the country and get college kids and a community hyped up.

It has never been the greatest show ever. The highlight has always been the picks, the energy at the beginning and the crowds. Much of the show itself is the people having to stand around and wait for the moments of excitement. I remember going to the show when it came to Clemson and that’s all it was.

Only so much you can do in several hours of preview.

I didn’t watch any last year or so far this. I really don’t think I’m missing anything.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I feel like the show should be shorter.

Sep 17, 2022, 2:10 PM

It currently feels like they have too much air time to fill. A few feature stories or tear jerkers are fine, celebrity and analyst picks are fun, and it’s always fun to see some of the local stuff for wherever they are broadcasting from. But otherwise, it feels like a waste of time. Fine to have on in the background but not something I’m going to pay much attention to.
