He screwed us out of an NCAA bid in 2019

when he decided that he wanted NC State to win that ACC Tournament game.
So no disappointment from me that he won’t be in the bubble to possibly affect our team. I wish him a speedy recovery for full health, of course.

He must have had a really diabolical plan to mess up our entire season.
Let’s just give Brad credit for a tournament appearance for that year. And last year, too, of course.

But I thought we were robbed in that game.
A blocking call with about a minute left against us plus the ridiculous call at the end when he said we fouled the flailing NC State player were both awful.
We went on a long scoring drought in that game and shouldn’t have put ourselves in position to be screwed by Valentine, but he still messed up the end for us. Not a diabolical plan, just a ref that should’ve let players determine the outcome, not himself.
Our NET proved that we belonged in the tournament. Just because NCSU won but didn’t make it doesn’t mean that we wouldn’t have made it had we won.

That’s actually not entirely true. Many at the time were saying that it was a play in game for the NCAA Tournament. But NC State ended up losing to Virginia the next day and did not make the tournament either.

I felt we deserved to be there, and a win over NC State would’ve cemented it.
Just because NCSU didn’t make it doesn’t mean we wouldn’t have.
Regardless, it’s a moot point because we didn’t make it. We don’t get credit for almost making it.
