RB next year

Jan 27, 2017, 7:51 AM

Do you guys think Fuller will be in for as many snaps as Gallman was this year? It was clear that Gallman was the go to guy, Fuller would come in as relief about 5-10% of the time and Feaster/Dye/Choice would be the garbage time guys. I'm wondering if the coaches will split playing time for Fuller/Feaster as much as they did for Davis/Spiller.

I think that blocking will be very important in who gets playing time.

Really?

I was actually thinking it was going to be based on our new hybrid positions.

Call it by the proper name, please

It's the PAW position.

Merriweather gets to finish out the USuC game I dont care how we rotate em.

I'm still smarting about that decision 11 years later.

Glad to see I'm not the only one. Typical CTB decision making we had to endure.

Most likely a running back by committee year

With Fuller getting the majority of the snaps.

Choice and Fiester get the most snaps next year. nm

Just like QB, it's an open competition

Fuller has a slight experience edge and showed improvement this year. Feaster has game changing ability. Choice to me is still more unknown than known due to the injury. Etienne is a freshman who won't be here until the summer.

Will be fun to watch, and my gut is we'll be fine, with snaps more split up this year

You didn't mention Ray Ray in the PAW position...***

Actually it was closer to 25% of the time. Gallman carried 232 for 1133 (4.9 per carry); CJ Fuller carried 47 times for 211 (4.5 per carry). Interestingly Fuller added 7 catches for 62 yards and another 2 TD's catching; he did not score on the ground; Gallman caught 20 balls (for 0 TD's) all year.

Dunno if those were trick-play outliers where we caught a LB sleeping on the substitute or if it means Fuller's got more-respectable hands than Gallman did.

Interestingly, Tavien Feaster carried 37 times last year...for 221 yards (6.0 per carry), and 2 TD's. Granted most of that did come in garbage time but he definitely has speed Fuller does not.

Choice did not look good last year. He carried 45 times - just 2 less than Fuller - but for just 158 yards, averaging just 3.5 yards per carry.

Be an interesting Spring. Personally I'm rooting hard that Feaster sees his opportunity and turns it on huge. He's the one guy I'd call a game-breaker; the other two are serviceable but not really exciting.
