And Sterling Johnson should be higher... DT's is a big need for this class considering what we lose after this season. I also think that the addition of Kelly Bryant is huge... He is a great athlete and once he refines his passing skills a bit, he will be a great one to backup Watson and then take over once he is gone.

Van Smith is better than muse at this stage especially as a db.

I think he could be good too but with the 8 DB's we recruited a year ago plus the few other additions its just not a dire need.

my critiques on Johnson are that he can be talented but he doesnt blow me away with skill and he has really bad mechanics. also ultimately think Kelly Bryant will be moved because he is too talented to not play but don't know if he is QB material

Potentially on Bryant, but I doubt it and heres why - If DW doesnt redshirt this year then when KB gets on campus DW will be a sophomore. If KB redshirts his first year, then he will have 4 years left while DW finishes his Junior and possibly senior season. If thats the case, KB backs up DW 1 maybe 2 years and then its his.

I would like that Kelly is very quick with top end speed, too. I would like to see it so hopefully Morris is hear to coach him up. Kelly needs work with mechanics. Don't expect Morris being here next year.

Here is a question... is our lack of top notch DL prospects attributed mostly to the allure of other programs, money from other programs, Dan Brooks, Hobby. It seems like we cant seal big DL prospects lately. It was easy when Rumph was DE coach. Also, we have put a number of DL in the NFL. Any thoughts?

$EC.. No other explanation. We have been 2nd on several big name recruits only to be left at the alter for an $EC school. And as you stated, we have had produced plenty of NFL talent players over the last few years and will produce at least 2 more this year w Beasly and Jarrett. $$$$$$

We desperately need DT and I think he is just like Grady Jarrett but bigger. 3 time state champ in heavyweight one loss in his career. has great mechanics and at 6'3 295 he runs 4.9 or 5 40. lot of good things just been overlooked.

Agree here, but still Johnson should be higher on the list because we are in such need for DT's. Hopefully he redshirts his first year since we will still have Watkins, Reader, Pagano, and Robinson and reforms his mechanics, but at his size he is going to be a force to be reckoned with.

He probably could have been higher, I just felt like there was better talent ahead of him. I also would not be surprised to see this guy moved to OL in a couple of years. That isn't the plan but if Green gets moved inside or Hyatt or Fruhmorgen play early and leave in three years then it could happen. He looks like a great OT. Just a thought, though, not a prediction or wish.

One thing I really like about this class is that it is pretty good top to bottom. Only thing is we arent counting JD, Judah Davis and Jalen Williams. Not as sure about williams but the Davis Bros. are a waste of two scholarships at a position that is already being over-recruited

Yes, grey shirts just dont go against the year that they committ. So, they committed for the 14 class, but their schollies go against the 15 class.

total yes but not against the 25 we can take this year. so we could sign 25 plus the 3 greyshirts. but it cant exceed the 85 limit.

Yes, depending on the exact #'s... transfers, early departures, academic casualties, etc... Dabo already said this class was going to be big. We have 15 committed currently... Id expect to see anywhere from another 6-9 commits plus the greys. 3/4 more on the DL, 1 more on the OL if we can get it, 1/2 WR's, 1 RB if he's a stud, and any big time stud thats oversign worthy. We have already filled our needs this class for DB's and QB's.

I hope they contribute and do well, but I kind of think that those were silly offers... If they want to play, let them walk on and earn a spot and then get a schollie if they are worth it. And the coaches may see somethign and know something we dont, but i think the Daniel pipeline and their dad played a role in getting the offer. But like i said, hopefully the work out and do well.

Then Briscoe and Chalmers will be higher up on the board. They are gonna be so big tall physical CB.

I think Tanner Muse is going to be higher on the list in the end. No offense to our current safeties, but Tanner is rather impressive on film and has a nasty streak that we have been missing from our DB's. Kid is going to blow some people up like Caddyshack!
