Random questions for all Clemson people

1) What, outside of athletics, are you most proud of about our University?
2) what non-athlete living alumnus/alumna are you proudest to have representing our University?
For me:
1- Our military heritage is a given, but also proud of our Restoration Institute, where they are restoring the Huntley and applying what they are learning to next generation clean energy production.
2- While it would be easy to go with Nancy Humphries, I think I am prouder of Nikki Haley. Whether we agree with her politically or not, she has accomplished so much, and been a principled leader, as well as a role model for women and immigrants in particular. She also graduated from the same high school (sort of) and college I did.
Editorial note: This is an opinion question, so there are no wrong answers. Would love to see thoughtful discussion.

I would say most of the former Tigers who served, particularly men like Jimmy Dyess, and also Nikki Haley over all other politicians we have had.

1) I am proud of the way our graduates represent us on the world stage. Be that an athlete, or a politician.
2) Man: Col. Ben Skardon. Woman: Nikki Haley.

I am proud of my Grand Dad who rode a horse from his farm,which is now under the Duke Power lake( Keowee) over to Clemson to participate in laying of the cornerstone of Tillman Hall and my Dad who, when Grand Dad died when Dad was 14 years old, quit seventh grade at Newry and took over the farm and regularly got research information that helped him adapt best agricultural practices. His older brother and two sisters were in Furman. His hard work allowed them to finish their education. They had promised to help him get his education but before that could happen he met a beautiful young school teacher and the rest is history.This background stamped in stone that my three brothers and I would go to Clemson.

1. I am proudest of Clemson's reputation for academic excellence and our hospitality and family atmosphere.
2. Person I'm proudest of - my dad. Clemson College class of '64, Master in ME. Air Force ROTC, USAF 1964-1971. Successful engineering career, principal partner in a Greenville firm. Loving husband of one wife and devoted father to me and my brother. A Clemson man through and through.

1-our academics and reputation. As a relative % we put more people in medical and dental school and advanced engineering.
2- male: every Clemson man who put his life on the line for our great country
Female: above applies too but since few women have served relative to men I will go with Nikki Haley. Don’t know if I have ever been more proud of a politician than when she demanded that the flag come off the statehouse.
