I thought one of the announcers said it wouldn't be a block, but it had left the guys hand and KJ seemed to hit it off the backboard a tad before grasping it, so I say it was a block.

Not sure that it can be a block since he has possession. Which would also give the FSU player a turnover and not a shot. But I'm not sure that I've ever seen that before.

You get credit for a block if you simply block a shot regardless of which team recovers possession. If you get the ball after you block it, you get credit for a steal also.
