Question: what is the most stupid thing you've done while watching football on tv?

Nov 24, 2014, 6:19 PM

I've busted my directv remote control. (Been some years, but I've done it)

I conceived a child during half time back in the mid 80's. He's a Sr at Clemson this year.

I tried conceiving a child during halftime of the FSU game this year.

Told me wife after the game to never touch me again during a game. That good 10 minutes in the bed was ruined just minutes later lol

Re: Question: what is the most stupid thing you've done while watching football on tv?

Nov 24, 2014, 6:54 PM

Not me and not during the game but after ... but this tops my list ...

Last year we watched the game at a neighbor's house. When it was over my husband was nowhere to be found. I had to walk home. Fine - a few blocks - no biggie. When I got home he was tooling around angrily in the garage. I ignored him as I've come to learn as a good practice, and I went inside and put the dog on the leash and went out for a walk. When we got out into the driveway, my husband had piled up every house flag, car flag, decal, IPTAY sticker, car magnets, and a few t-shirts, and lit them on fire in the driveway.

We've replaced all of the burned items since. I hope we don't have a repeat this year.

FYI - magnets smell horrible when they burn and the stain on concrete is hard to clean.

Re: Question: what is the most stupid thing you've done while watching football on tv?

Nov 25, 2014, 12:03 PM

Mine doesn't entail watching on TV, but it does involve Clemson/USuCk: Inviting a co-worker who is a sc grad/fan to the game last year. He's a good guy who made some really poor decisions and found himself in some very serious criminal (white collar) trouble. He did his time and I invited him and his wife to the game with us as a sort of celebration. Free stay at my in-laws house on Keowee, transportation provided, all the food and drinks they wanted and two incredibly great seats in the stadium. He was very appreciative and respectful the entire trip - he never said anything disparaging about Clemson and cheered for both teams - given his recent past, I think he was just thankful to be there. His wife (who I don't even think graduated HS and definitely didn't go to sc) however... She screamed like a madwoman - she yelled at all the Clemson fans (me included), cheered like nobody I've ever heard for the gaycocks and was just rude and out of control. She drank too much before the game, during the game and after the game. I watched with embarrassment as my father-in-law gave me this "Are you serious, wisertime?? I'm so disappointed in you.." look for nearly the entire game. There were two sc students who were beyond intoxicated, sitting right behind us. They had a 750mL bottle of JB that they had brought in and spilled all over my fiance's purse and when I said something to them, she (friend's wife) started screaming at me, telling me they were kids and since I had been drinking earlier also, that I was no better. Our seats are right behind the visitor's bench and I got tired of watching Clowney & Co act like a$$holes in our stadium - dancing around and slinging gatorade, and then her cheering it on and antagonizing us, so I left at the beginning of the 4th quarter. I was frigid and I don't know if I've ever been so angry. We lose, the game gets out and surprise - she shows up with 3-4 gaycocks she'd befriended during the game - she invites them back to our tailgate for food and drinks. My inlaws are very patient and kind people, so they didn't say anything, but just kept giving me this "###?!?" look. We packed up our tailgate and went back to the lakehouse, where she continued.. "Oh My God!! What a game! I can't believe I got to see that! And those seats! That was the best thing I've ever been to!!!" She never thanked me or the inlaws for anything - the only thing she was thankful for was that she was there and that they won. By then, I was about to explode - I went upstairs and went to bed. I wake up in the morning and she's still carrying on - screaming and errrr-rrr-rrrr-rrrr'ing and just acting like an out of control 3itch. We load up the car, say our goodbyes and she continues on - the whole 4 hour trip back to Charleston. My buddy kept texting me from the backseat, saying he was sorry, but he wouldn't do or say anything to her. My fiance' and I start yelling back by this point, telling her to "SHUT THE F UP!!", but she wouldn't - just telling us we were sore losers and how we would have been doing it if we had won. Dropped them both back off -and while I do still see my friend occasionally, I haven't said one word to her in two years.

Serious - biggest mistake I've ever made, football or Clemson-wise.

A long time ago, i was around 14 or 15 and really immature. When we lost i grabbed my baseball bat, went outside and looked for something to hit. The first thing i saw was my sister, but don't worry i didnt hit her lol. I finally decided to go for the mailbox, so i walked over there a took a Barry Bonds type swing at the mailbox and knocked it completely off. Of course, my dad was driving home and saw the whole thing. Needless to say, i wasnt able to sit properly for a few days but i deserved it. I really regret doing stuff like that when i was younger.

I've done a lot of stupid things. I broke all sorts of things over the years. It got so bad that I had to have a punching bag near me so I could have something to hit or kick that wasn't a wall, furniture, or remote. I think my low point was the 2007 VT game when Tyrod Taylor kept running it up our ##### and I body slammed the punching bag causing it to rip and some of the stuffing came out. I then proceeded to just completely shred it and had stuffing and pieces of the bag all over the room. I wasn't even drunk.
