Good morning everyone how was your weekend?

Friday night, attempted to install a roof rack on Sharkgirl's car. What looked like a project that would take about 15 minutes ended up never getting finished. I think I need to have the bushings retapped or something.
Saturday, football and friendsgiving. The Clemson turnovers delayed my departure for a while, but that was mostly a good effort and I'll not complain. Flabbergasted by the effort Tennessee put up.
Sunday, brewed some beer, won my first Fan Duel contest in a long time.

Did a couple cases Friday then high-tailed it to the farm, too late to sit in a stand. Cooked a beaufort stew.
Saturday AM we shot our duck pond, best hunt in a few years. All together 8 guns killed 10 wood ducks, 6 ringnecks, 1 merganser and 1 teal. I made chorizo breakfast burritos on the black stone and we drank and watched football the whole rest of the day.
Sunday AM we shot quail, even found our native covey. By then my wife & brother’s wife were both complaining about the kids so we packed up and headed home, spent most of yesterday afternoon on the couch watching football and detoxing.

Friday...dinner at McGee's Irish Pub with wife and daughter-of. Good food and had a guy playing named Keith Gregory that is I used to see all the time in Augusta. That guys is still playing 4-5 gigs a week and he's got to be in his 60's. Still looks the same, so I guess black don't crack is true.
Saturday...some chores around the house. Tried to rehang a shutter that had fallen. Total CF...those plastic shutter nails had broken off in the brick...couldn't drill them out...total failure, so one front window will be shutterless on one side until I get reinspired. Thought the FB game went pretty well. Hit Maki for dinner with wife, daughter and one of her friends.
Sunday...hit store to stock up on food for Thanksgiving. We're hosting 6 at our house and I'm the cook. Watched Red Zone all day. Son-of beside himself upset that Giants lost to Lions. Fantasy team crapped the bed in early games, but Kelce came through for me in the late game. Down 20 going into tonight with CMC and Moore going in MNF.

I actually had the special, which was a thick cut fried bologna sandwich with bacon, tomato, lettuce, mayo...was really good.
Maki is really good too and normally has some decent scenery!

Left Friday for Sugar Mountain where I still am today. VERY cold weekend, currently sitting at about 18F at 4,605 ft ASL. Clear and windy though with no participation.
Took a couple of drives instead of hiking, ate at Sorrento's one night. Watched the Tigers, laughed at the tarholes, gators and rebels and wondered how much it cost us taxpayers to hire a new team for the coots.
8/10 (15.2/19 on the RH Covid scale) with deductions for cold and wind.
Still dewing.

Fri - went to the new Irish pub in town (New Ellenton irish, lol) and had a couple Smithwicks and irish nachos. Was good. Went to the brewpub for live music, band was just ok.
Sat - wife woke up not well which delayed our leaving for Clemson. Got to Clemson later than desired, so missed ATL PAW MAN® and MauldinT® at the tailgate of RH Tig. We all know what happened in the game, and it was COLD up in those stands. Charleston Sports Pub for supper, and got a visit with niece (no pigs). Drive back to Aiken, saw three deer. One was a BEAST, but made it home with no impacts.
Sun - slept in cause got home from Clemson late. Wife's 50th birthday, but didn't do much, other than meeting brother and a couple other idgits at Mellow Mushroom for a beer.
Ready for a short and easy week for Turkey Day.

even in the day time with deer.
Even the Abbeville, Plum Branch, Edgefield route is tough at night right now. This time of year, I normally go Abbeville, to Greenwood on 72 and then down 25 to Edgefield. It adds about 5 min, but a lot less deer and bigger roads.

Sick since last Thursday. On the upside now, but sold tix to game, now wife and kids getting round 2. Going with a 50/50 chance of getting a call from the school nurse today for a retrieval. Both marginal on the way to school.
Wife managed to use her health on Saturday to do groceries, some Christmas shopping, etc.
Back at work, phone only today, voice pending.
Overall 5.12/10

Got a Todaro's special add ricotta Friday night, delicious
Saturday, walked the dogs, let the dogs run around the tailgate, experienced downtown, no place at the bar at Loose Change so went to Backstreets, their burger is pretty good
Tailgated some behind TTT, did a lemon drop in upstairs TTT
fed the dogs, walked to the game and saw MauldinT® and his track and field star daughter, Went to the bathroom around halftime and never got back to my seat, good to see you MauldinT! I really don't leave the game that early but my buzz was catching up on me
Had some Mac Attack which was good, found a tailgate to watch the game, stumbled home and ate whatever food which was left over, went and got the car later on, I should probably unload it today sometime
Other than walking the dogs on Sunday, not much else. Watched the game again, we looked good in the 1st half, defense played well all game, got some chori pollo from Fiesta Grill 2
the end

Friday - left da Noke around 0930. Drove down to G-d's country (side note: FFS State of Sakerlina, please fix your side of I-85). Checked in at our Airbnb in Townville (APM had never been to Townville - purdy lil country town). Then off to the Smokin' Pig. APM had the ribs, brisket, & pork plate with fried okra and baked beans (yes, you read that correctly).
Then went downtown to make Coach Ibrahim's family just a little richer. Bought some gear and such, very glad I bought a beanie for myself. But LAWD what in da phuque has happened to downtown? A boutique hotel across from Jimmy Howard's tap room? Da phuque? And since when did downtown have TWO BLOCKS of shops and stuff? Wow.
Then lillestAPM and I went to the stadium. He wanted to see it and I am glad we went in the dark with no one there. Very very cool.
Then on the way back to the Airbnb we were in traffic for an hour due to a fatal car crash in Pendleton. We knew it was bad by the number of police and fire and EMS vehicle and by the medevac chopper than landed on 76. Ts&Ps.
Satdee - up & at 'em and off to campus by about 1015. Took the boys on a scenic tour of campus. Stopped to see APM's name in the sidewalk next to Calhoun Mansion. Stopped by the frat quad (get up and drink you phukkers - where was APM's complimentary alumni bloody mary?). Then to tailgate with our Aiken peeps. So good to see them. But it was COLD in Shotgun Alley. The shade is great for warm weather but lawd it was cold for tailgating. Still, great to see our homies. Then off to Tiger Walk so lillestAPM could see it (it was his first time at CU ever). I promise, Pork Chop stared into my soul. Great seeing Dabo, DJU (he even looks thin up close), etc. The up the hill to tailgate with RH Tig, joonyer, and Mauldawg. Good seeing all of them. Had a Rolling Rock courtesy of RH Tig. Been years. Did not know they even still existed. Thanks RH Tig.
Then the game itself. Awesome. But COLD in the upper deck. The wind. Dayum. Interestingly, we had some actual Miami fans around us. Can't believe any came, but they did and they were cool. Talked to them as they walked out.
Stopped back by the Aiken tailgate, then headed back to the Airbnb.
Sunday - drove home. Stopped at a Waffle House for brunch on the way. That was a cultural experience that may get its own thread. Then home. Homecooked dinner, The Crown (Romanoff's episode - very good), and to sleep in my own bed. So good.
Ready for a quick 3-day work week then my favorite holiday.
One more thing. How 'bout this young Lungeite in training? UNGH!!!

Friday evening prepped for tailgate, browned 9 lbs of beef for taco bar next day (yes all got eaten). Went to Brixx and had fun sitting at bar with Mrs CubMD meeting new friends
Sat up early and hit Clemson bout 10. Went Christmas shopping downtown, hit TTT's (they have some tasty bloody marys), back to tailgate, my bro came in town that AM so good to see him. Had about 30 at the gate, was a good time. Froze up in upper deck when that wind started picking up. Fell asleep in chair right after Hooker tore his ACL
Sunday family time with bro and mom. Also Christmas decorating
This AM woke up tired LOL

Plenty of our regulars and visitors at tgate Saturday, nice in sun until gametime, Wore out the Landsharks again but the ipas disappeared from the cooler also ?. MauldinT® and CUdaughterT(congrats) stopped by, first meeting in person! Did not see Willmo® and BigDaddy® was a late arrival to the Hills. Tigers looked good H1, Dabo didn’t want to embarrass Sebastian’s H2, I guess…

Friday, work meeting let loose around 4:00 so off to a local watering hole for drinks on the company dime. From there to RH Mom's for a while, then home for a Sun Station II sandwich and AEW wrasslin', then crash.
Saturday, tailgating with MauldinT® and his Clemson athlete daughter, and @AATL PAW MAN® and a pair of l'il APMs. Football game, but nobody hurdled anybody so meh. Listened to coots on the way home, then pretty much fell out in the BIg Chair shortly after getting home around 9:30ish.
Sunday, Joonyer left for Rehobeth Beach to move his mother-in-law down to RH, so we now have 3 dogs until Wednesday morning. So basically Sunday was a round of dog walking, grocery run, visit to RH Mom, a round of dog walking, made delicious spaghetti, a round of dog walking, Walking Dead series finale, a round of dog walking, then bed.
No real complaints, so I'll score it a 19/19 Covids.

Was feeling off all weekend (and for the few days since I got back from Australia) - had done a covid test when I got back on friday, and it was negative. did one last night, and it popped positive.
Fortunately, I was able to get a 7:15A appt with tlehealth to get a scrip for paxlovid, so I'll be going to pick that up shortly.
That said, Australia was a lot of fun for the week or so while I was there.

On a high from the best quick trip to Clemson ever...
Nov 21, 2022, 9:45 AM
|
|
Flew in to Gvegas Friday, headed to to Clemson for some adult debauchery with a friend I met my very first night at Clemson 24 years ago. We don't party as hard as we used to have switched to wine at Rick Erwin's over $5 pitchers at TTT.
Saturday up and out to tailgate. It's been a solid 6 years since I've attended a home game and the atmosphere almost brought tears to my eyes. Caught up with a group of college friends who despite being wild and crazy in their youth have turned into successful people with wonderful spouses and families. Made me super happy to catch up with all of them.
Scored sideline passes and got to see the first quarter from the field. Not my first trip down there, but you people should put it on your bucket list. The energy is something else. Literally ran smack into several different people that were on my bucket list to hug.
Sunday had brunch with an old friend who is back in Clemson coaching. Thinks we still got the Gamecocks covered. Then off to GSP for the flight home. GSP is the best, easiest airport in all the land. I want to move back just for that little travel gem.
A little colder than I expected, but I truly had the best day ever in the best place on earth.
Wish I could go back again this weekend... won't be 6 years until I'm back and I'm mad at myself for leaving the family behind this trip because my kids would have loved it.

Pretty good weekend
Nov 21, 2022, 10:00 AM

Friday: prepped to head to Clemson, on the next day, not much
Saturday: headed to to G-d's country, Willmo® contacts me and has a sweet parking spot for me. Get parked and made our way over to RH Tig's spot, talk to him, Jooyner and sis-of-RH Tig for a while. ATL PAW MAN® came by got to meet his very nice young men. Great meeting him and his clan. Wandered over to the Tiger Tailgate show, and then wandered and found bengaline® and his setup. Awesome guy, had a great time.
Head in the stadium, ge tsettled and Willmo and Willmo-she show up, having a great time. That first half was on fleek, as TheProdigal likes to say.
Third quarter was worse than a post-Chipotle dump.
Headed home and the car gave up outside of Columbia. Wife came and got my daughter and I got towed home, so dealing with that.
Sunday: slept in because I got home at 4AM, saw the Qatar World Cup game, and that team does not belong at all. Went shopping with my track daughter, and I made a home made potato soup, son came over to visit and had a great Sunday.
Every one we saw all day at Clemson, you all were the best. My daughter was blown away that you knew who she was and knew about her accomplishments, her exact words were: "Dad, your friends can be weird, but they are really good people."
Gentlemen, that is the most apt description of the Lounge I have ever heard.

Didn;t get to watch the Clemson game because no internets
Nov 21, 2022, 10:00 AM
|
|
And despite ryanadidas®not showing up, Orlando, Coby and Decaine were able to move 99% of our stuff. I am never moving again. If I do have to move, I'm taking my guns and my clothes and giving th rest to teh new owner as a house warming present.
Still no internets so I'm hotspotting off my phone. I'm sore AF today and feel like somebody beat me. And currently there are about 12 señores running around here like its a clown car. Occasionally I hear someone hammering something.
Still amazed at USCe, and hoping we dont run into that buzzsaw next week. Going to try and make it up for the game.

fri - went to eat pizza. dawghater2baby was grumpy AF / wife gave her hot pizza so she lost it. so we left.
sat - up and at em w/ dawghater2baby who was in a much better mood. watched gameday, cooked some dope breakfast.
moved furniture all day to get baby room #2 up and running
cooked burgers
sun - took spare mattress down to inlaws. packed for ATL.
somewhere btwn thursday and frydee...preggers wife went preggers wife on me and put me over the edge. gave her the silent treatment all weekend so that was a fun time too. times were easier when Cherokee chiefs just told their women to hunt, kill, clean and cook their own food methinks.
drove down to ATL this morning...left at 430 (ran late). absolutely, unequivocally, #### this god #### place. I'm done coming down here for holidays until my youngest child is 3 yrs old.

Friday worked a bit late mediating a case in Spartanburg and got home towards the end of dinner. Ate a few wings and drank a drank and then caught some TeeVee.
Saturday, got up and tried to move old sofa upstairs because we got a new sofa and the old one is now sitting in the doorway between the dining room and the entrance hall. Won't fit through door with legs on and needed a special screwdriver to remove legs so moved on to other things. Bought a couple minibottles and drank the traditional pre-game bourbon drinks. Tigers won. Got reservations last minute at Hall's since USC playing a home game. Sat and ate stupid good food and steaks and drank good wine and old fashioneds. Wife of was sore because we could hear Tennessee getting whooped from the dining room since the coot fans at the bar were hooting and hollering every time they scored. Finished dinner and headed across the street to Bourbon where we spent even more money getting drunk. Ubered home and watched a bit of the R&R hall of fame ceremony before hitting the sack.
Sunday, woke up and got 4 year old situated then spent some alone time with the wife while 4 year old watched Peppa Pig in the living room. Nursed hangover most of the day but did get most of the Christmas stuff out. Also bought the driver tip for the sofa but did not get around to fixing it yet. Bought burgers and had a nice fire and cookout despite the cold. Got to bed early after more fooling around with wife.
Pretty good except for UT loss and USC win.

With tailgating we missed a nap, so towards then end of the first we found out that while he doesn't care much for sleeping through the night, he can make it through a Clemson touchdown or two without a flinch.

Flew out bright and early to DFW on Friday for big final national lax tourney of the season. HORRYSHEET it was cold there, all weekend. Upper 30's/Lower 40's but 20+mph winds all weekend made the weather SUUUUCK.
Landed, and went to Avis--looked at the board to see where my car was, walked to that space. Space was empty. Asked worker wandering around aimlessly in Avis jacket about by situation and was met with "We ain't got not currs". Finally another, barely more interested Avis jacket worker said "You like that Grand Cherokee? Jump in that, they'll fix it at the exit". They did indeed fix it at the exit, thereby passing along my empty spot problem to the next poor sap who would walk up to an empty parking space.
Drove to our hotel right beside Jerry world. I generally don't like Dallas----flat, featureless, overcrowded x10, and I haaaaaaaaate their crazy frontage rd/freeway system. However I did pop for the $12/day unlimited toll feature on the rental, and I took their expensiveass express lanes EVERYWHERE. The freeway could be empty beside me and I was still doing 85 down this single lane express lane that cost normal suckers about $3/mile to travel on.
Lax was good mostly. Daughter's first game since committing and she played super-loose and just balled out having a great time. Her team went 2-2 in the top flight against clubs that had 9-10 legit D1 commits to MD, UNC, Syracuse, ND, etc (and yes, Clemson). As I posted over the weekend, got rocked in game 3 with some concussion worries, but passed the screen and was told to let her make the call for game 4 the next day. Slight headache but she wanted to play and it paid off, with them beating a team of the bitchiest Jersey girls and parents evur by two points. Feelings were butthurt, and it was glorious.
Finally, left the last game yesterday, shower and change at hotel, then enough time to get some In-n-Out burger before hitting airport.

See, you know how to take the reservation,

you just don’t know how to hold the reservation and that’s really the most important part of the reservation, the holding. Anybody can just take them.

Friday finished installing new vanity/sink in guest bathroom. Good timing case around 10 Brother-of and Friend-of got into town with a wide selection of delicious bourbon. Had a few tastes of delicious bourbon and went to bed around 2.
Up and ready for tailgate. Stopped at Smokin Pig for brisket, pork, wonderful sides. Drove into clemson, parked by noon and had a great tailgate. Drank large amount of bourbon.
Tigers win and we drove home, somehow skipping most of the traffic. Got into the crockpot Wife-of had waiting for us and had even more delicious bourbon. Finally crashed after USC and USC won.
Sunday up relatively early, had a bit of breakfast and sent Brother-of and Friend-of back towards ATL airport for flight home. Wife and I loaded up leftover crap we had bought for guest bath and returned it to Lowes. Back home and had some BBQ leftovers. Then got in a couple hours couch time that was wonderful.
Piddled rest of day away.
99 stars. Would do again.

Thursday - started at noon on Thursday - headed down to TPA and got there early with Tigress - so we went to World of Beer and pounded some liquid lunch. Hurried back to the terminal and jumped on the USF team charter to Tulsa for Friday night's football contest.
Like Obed said - COLD - snowed a little Thursday night.
GREAT dinner with our peeps Thursday night - midwestern beef done just right.
Friday - great lunch & a brewery - buses to the stadium - very small school - something like 3,500 enrollment. Great stadium - but very small - makes Groves in Winston look like the big house.
Local bar nearby - met some player's families, got in a lot of anti-freeze.
Lost the game but the 4th string QB - true freshman - got his first start - looked poised & solid & made mostly great decisions.
Saturday - back on the plane sometime after 2am - but not before having the best smoked meat in a styrofoam container I have ever had.
Back in National Championship town around 5:30am . . . brutal rest of the day with the Littles. Loved the Tigers win - solid and dominating except for the 3 turnovers and the little bit of nerves in the 3rd Q.
Sunday - a lotta nothing. Thank goodness it was cooler & rainy so we had to stay home and inside . . . .
A solid 9 outta 10 HORNS UP . . . woulda been an 11 outta 10 with a Bulls W.
