Pulling for the Rams because….

Jan 30, 2022, 10:03 PM

They were the Panthers first ever “Home” opponent in Death Valley.

September 1995….I had a cousin with tickets and I was able to attend the first ever Carolina Panthers “home” game. I remember a few things…

My mom bought be a black Panthers sweatshirt to wear….we sat in the west end zone and it was hotter than blue blazes.

The crown on the field was massive.

The Panthers had this god-awful fight song that played over and over again…all I recall of the lyrics are “Carolina, Carolina, best of em all”

The Panthers lost the game.

I became a Rams fan that day because I liked their uniforms (go easy on me….I was 12)

Go Rams!

sadly owned 2 high priced plastic chairs in the stadium to be built and 2 season tickets, or more years than I want to admit.

Saying, youse were lucky!

I was there @ age 34 and had lower level front row seats directly behind the Rams' bench. Worst seats ever! We couldn't see squat because of all of the players standing on the sideline. Live and learn!

LA Rams history

Jan 31, 2022, 1:51 AM

Forgive me for being an oldster. When I think of the L.A. Rams I think of the Rams of the 60’s.

“Rosey Grier was acquired from the New York Giants in 1963 to join Lamar Lundy, Merlin Olsen and Deacon Jones as the Los Angeles Rams starting defensive line. They also became known as the Fearsome Foursome, and the greater publicity garnered by the NFL leads many to assume they were the originals. #### Butkus called them "the most dominant line in football history."[1] They gained fame as the Rams went from a perennial under .500 team to an NFL powerhouse under coach George Allen”.

HOF Coach Allen also coached the Washington Redskins.

Incidentally, late in his career George Allen brought a Long Beach State 49’ers team to Death Valley in 1990 where they lost 59-0 to the Tigers. I was there.

Go Rams and Bengals and Tigers!

Go Bengals!!!
Panthers are irrelevant and the Rams do not have my "forever a Clemson Tiger" on their team.
