Proud to have been in the running for Fuller

Jul 29, 2012, 4:28 PM

Normally in a situation where a recruit is as connected to a school as Fuller was to VT it is a done deal when it comes time for him to commit. It really says a lot about the status of our recruiting efforts and what Clemson has to offer that it was this close for so long.

I wish him well but hope he sees a lot of Watkins and Hopkins backside in the coming years.

It's hard to go against family and tradition. The very reason so many guys have chosen to go to Clemson! Blessing to Fuller and his family and maybe during the season is friend can change his mind....maybe!

There are no victories in recruiting until the player hits the field and actually makes plays. There is a lot of focus on rankings and stats at this point that do not always turn into W's on Saturdays.

Regardless of whether Fuller turns into an all-American or not, the fact it came do to his home school and us out of every program in the nation speaks for itself.

It is a lot better than to go the route of other recent fans on other boards saying he must be getting paid. That type of response cheapens the whole process and attacks the integrity of the recruit and their family.

Very well put.

I haven't seen a single post accusing VT of paying the kid either. Cheers to Clemson's faithful.

Yes, it is nice I suppose that we were in the running. I want that to be the expected norm for Clemson.

I would be more proud if he had chosen Clemson though.

Losing a kid to VaTech stinks. I just dont think we should ever lose a kid to them. But they somehow keep winning there. Nothing flashy with that school but they do win, so they are doing something right. I still dont see how a kid can choose them over us when it comes down to the two.
