Suggestions needed for selling a house in the Clemson area.

Mar 30, 2016, 9:38 AM

The Clemson housing market is very unique. Most of the sales occur between March and June. I have a house about 3 miles from Death Valley (technically in Seneca) that I desperately need to sell soon.

The house is listed with a reputable Real Estate agency, but I'm looking for ways to target/notify Clemson Alumni and fans that want to relocate to the area. The house is in a really nice neighborhood where several of the CU Coaches live, so it is an ideal place for someone with Clemson ties.

So if anyone has experience or ideas as to how to target Clemson people please respond or T-mail me.

Note: I'm not trying to turn this into a classified ad and will not make another post about this.

There's something in these hills.

Is it "priced to sell" ?

I don't know the current Clemson area market, but if you're not pricing your home aggressively and you're trying to get maximum return ... then you may have to be patient.

I know this is not always a trusty tool but ti is listed under the Zillow estimate.

By the pics, it's a beautiful house, and hopefully it will become a happy home for a special Clemson family. Anything above 100-150K would be more than my checking account could keep up with. But for sure if it's priced right for the area, it will sell. If greed or sentimental value is figured in the total price in today's economy, spider webs will fill those spacious rooms. Good luck, and I hope you sell sooner rather than later....

Pro-tip: have more and better photos and stage the house

The listing is pretty weak to be honest. Look at other listing to compare. Make sure your realtor is earning their commission.

Sold a house in Pendleton back in 2009. Was on the market for 3 day.

I agree, especially about staging ...

the house. Make sure it's set to show potential buyers, not necessarily the way you and your family like it to look. Are the light fixtures, for example, up to date? Do you have the kind of countertops in the kitchen today's market is looking for? It's easy to get used to the way your house looks and not be aware of it being "out of style" by today's standards. That's where a really-good realtor will earn his/her money.
