Clemson pres. James Barker on John Swofford's meeting with BOT today: "I think it did nothing but reinforce our role in the ACC. It was a shattering of myths and legends about the ACC and commissioner Swofford. We let our board ask any questions they wanted to ask...It was a very positive and professional exchange. BOT had questions about "history.... future (of ACC) about conference alignment, all those types of questions you would expect."

was discussed at the highest level and publicly announced speaks volumes in this time of uncertainty and crazy rumors.

I'd say his public statement was a gloss-over of the actual dialog.

I still believe that there is no appetite in the Administration for a conference change. They just enjoy hanging out with the Tobacco Road types too much at ACC meetings. I believe the financial inequities among conferences has forced them to make it look like they are investigating the situation to keep us (the Clemson family) quiet.
