Good morning everyone how was your weekend?

Feb 21, 2022, 7:59 AM

Friday night, watched Clemson baseball, went to Lowes for the peg board project supplies. Luckily the big saw was working so I could get the sheets cut to 5 feet eliminating the issue we discussed earlier. U Joint for supper.

Saturday, went to Clemson to do some shopping for my Dad's 70th everything sucks right now. All the t-shirts are that thin material. Had to pee so went to the bar for one beer. Back home to watch baseball then went to the Contrast Distillery in Simpsonville.

Sunday, didn't get anything accomplished.

Wood is still expensive as crap. Glad you’re still doing projects.

Feb 21, 2022, 8:10 AM

My weekend has been decent. I can’t recall anything that happened and I forgot to eat dinner last night. Oh yeah and the lounge is turning into the p&r forum slowly. Could we at least wait until Juwan Howard turns it into a race issue before we turn it into a race issue for him. Or not, doesn’t really matter. Let’s celebrate his stupidity as much as possible and be thankful he doesn’t look like us.

2/10 cause it was a working weekend.

Welp, the Tigers continued to lose but I didn't die.

Feb 21, 2022, 8:14 AM

How long does this Brownlee project last?

Spent from Wed till today on Sugar Mtn. Heavy weather...1st 1.5" of rain, then 1" of snow, then cold and 35mph winds, then sun and a bit warmer.

Did Mountain things.

8/10 (do your on RH Covid scale math) with deductions for the single digit wind chills.

Ignore bouncey ball, watch baseball and softball.

This is the only way. Also if asked must say, I will not watch men's basketball until there is a new coach.

Thursday: left Gangland after work to drive to Spartanburg.

Friday: took dad to an eye appointment over in Greenville in the morning. Greenville traffic is insane.
Headed back to Gangland around 3:00. ms midland called and wanted to do a weekend in Dirty Myrtle with son and DIL. Left Gangland around 6:30 heading to the MB.

Saturday: worked around sons' house doing things on his to-do list. Watched golf. Dinner at New York Prime. Stayed up to late watching youTube music videos and drinking beer.

Sunday: Lunch at Art Burger Sushi Bar. Quick walk on the beach. Watched golf. Got back to Gangland around 9:00. No dinner. Too tired. Just went to bed after unpacking.

11/10: for getting to see son and DIL.

Feb 21, 2022, 8:22 AM

Friday spent the day in the creek training a bunch of area Beta Club students how to monitor local streams for part of their service component then enjoyed the return of baseball

Went to supper with friends

Saturday spent the day up at the blacksmith's guild mostly catching up with folks I hadn't seen in 2.5+ years while the young guys did good work in the forges. Saturday night went to Carter's for a delicious birthday steak with inlaws

Sunday celebrated birthday with mom and friends at CC of Spartanburg then went on a good hike in Peters' (lol) Creek

It was great to spend 3 good days outside with the long damps coming this week.

enjoyed clemson baseball and softball being back too

Bought a lot of groceries. Son got new shoes. Bought two couches. Well paid half down for two couches. Will pay the other half on delivery, in September. Fixed my office chair. Drank bourbon. Cooked a few steaks. Sam's run. About it.

Weekend ending dream

Feb 21, 2022, 9:17 AM

So I was at my parent's old house, where I grew up. But somehow my mom/dad and wife and kids were there too. Anyway, middle son comes in and said the washing machine had flooded. Go in and the washer was fine, but the dryer was flooded and the floor was soaked. What was inside and had leaked out the dryer looked like chunky barf and smelled as such. I used mom's walker with the tennis balls on the bottom to prod the floor and it went through, so I knew there was water damage.

Pulled the dryer out from the wall and checked the water line. Seemed ok. Then I noticed there was an opening behind the dryer to the crawl space. Well, needed to check the crawl space for water damage so I stepped through the hole in the wall with a flashlight instead of walking outside and all the way around the house to the crawlspace door. As I adjusted to the darkness, with a flashlight, I noticed it was really dusty (dirt crawlspace btw). Then I saw something, a big lump. The lump uncurled and then I realized it was a good 10-ft alligator. It was cool under there so he was moving in slow motion. I got out and then went to look for a .44 dad had stashed away somewhere. Found it and went back down there (through the same hole). The alligator was gone, but I saw a couch. And on the couch, covered in dirt and dust, was a homeless woman and a child. And a cat what had glowing red eyes. I told them they'd have to leave as I was looking for water damage.

That's it. Alarm rang.

Feb 21, 2022, 9:22 AM

You don’t trust your son to know the difference between the washer and the dryer.

Yeah, a flooded dryer full of barf that went all over the

floor was a little weird. It was as if the dryer itself barfed maybe? I seemed to think it was a leak for some reason and didn't really click it's barf.... (GALLONS) of barf. Pretty vivid, but weird dream.

Glad for the break but not terribly exciting.

Feb 21, 2022, 8:31 AM

Friday, took the day off and hung out with RH Mom for a few hours. Her dishwasher was on the blink so I called my good friend that does appliance repair. He hung out for an hour after the call catching up. Then off to the music store to visit my buddy there, great visit although there was nothing new and interesting to test drive. Back home to take a long hike with the pup, then back home to grill cowmeat and potatomeat. Pretty much spent the night watching BKB bare-knuckle boxing matches. It was fantastically bloody and violent.

Saturday, every chore known to man that could be squeezed into a day was squeezed into a day it seems. Late afternoon took my new Jackson bass to my guitar wizard for some tweaking. Hung out for a bit and checked out a thin body acoustic that he hand-built...freaking incredible. If you saw it hanging in a music store for $2000 you wouldn't blink. This was not parts or a kit, he did all the woodwork. The guy recently got a shout-out in Guitar World magazine for working on guitar for Nuno Bettencourt. Truly a master craftsman. Back home to chill for a bit then had run over to RH Mom's, back home around 8 and threw some frozen leftovers in the nuclear food machine, finished up the last third of a jar of blackberry moonshine that someone left at a tailgate maybe 3 or 4 years ago. Played some bass, watched some TV, crashed.

Sunday, slept late, coffee and excellent zombie B-movie Dead Don't Die In Dallas, then grocery run, home to hike the pup, then grilled shish kabobs. Played some bass after S U P P E R then chilled with something or other on TV.

18.55/19 Covids.

Fri - ate some supper with the wife, went to bed early

Sat - funeral in SC, which I'll post about later. In-laws were watching dawghater2baby when I got back and picked up my wife, so we got to have a nice afternoon beer siesta before coming home

Sun - ran a bunch of errands, walked around the hood, cooked some turkey burgers.

Friday night - Panic at the township. Took the wife and kids. Organ donor girl we met at Billy Strings scrounged up some wrist bands for us and whisked us away to up against the handrail on Jimmy Side. Being front row on Jimmy side is:

.

Somehow my brother and my friends also slipped into the pit and randomly ended up right there with us, so we had a big-ol time.

Saturday - Piddle around the house and uptown. Spent a lot of time at my brothers house hanging out.

Sunday - Church, drove to Ridge Springs to eat at Peaches and Such. Came home, and about that time my childhood home's neighbor showed up at our door saying that DaddyAdidas was in a bad wreck just about a 1/2 mile from my house. I jumped in the car and drove over there. He was crossing the highway at a light in his trusty old Chrysler 300, when a Ford escape blew through the red light doing about 65. it hit his front drivers side wheel/engine compartment, spun both cars around. Airbags came out and all that jazz. He went to the hospital via amberlamps, but they discharged him later that evening. I'm sure he'll be sore AF for weeks and weeks and weeks. I managed to get all of his old expired Arby's coupons out of his glovebox before the car was hauled off. They don't print $2.99 market fresh Reuben and $1 large curly fry coupons anymore and he's been using them weekly since they expired around 2014. Sunday night I had some beers with my bro and some bro-ski's and then brother and I went to Sunday night Panic, thanks to the benevolent Willmo®. Once again, we scrounged up some wristbands and snuck into the pit, where we were electrified by the show.

4:30am came early this morning, but it's all good.

died at that same intersection in 1965.

They were returning home from their granddaughter's funeral (she died in a dormitory fire while in nursing school in Columbia) and got t-boned. My granddad was the first on the scene, when he happened upon his parents in the road (he was a few minutes behind them).

Tough time for the Adidases... long before I came along.

WIDESPREAD PANIC at the Township on Saturday for us.

Killer show, great seats for being comfortable and boogying. Wife and I ate at Market on Main beforehand and I tried to get drunk, was reasonably successful but had to drive home.

Otherwise, 2 basketball games on Friday, both boys' teams won.

Saturday 8.X mile run, daughter's last basketball game (only 5 showed up, she played good, but they were missing their best 3 players, lost by 4). Grabbed lunch and cleaned up house, then off to Columbia.

Sunday up for Church and it felt really early. Lunch, home to do laundry, then groceries and basketball practice. Major FOMO for the Sunday show at the Township, I tried to convince wife to go but it wasn't happening. No babysitter again. Watched 1883 and then slept.

Far better than Yellowstone

Feb 21, 2022, 9:32 AM

but the end of episode 9 really makes me mad. I knew it was going to happen, but I was denying it was actually going to happen. I don't really like Faith Hill, but the trio of Sam Elliot, Tim McGraw, and LaMonica Garrett is great.

Friday: after work enjoyed a very low key, easy evening.

Satiday: had a yard sale in anticipation of a move this summer. It was my first one. Yard salers are an interesting sub-culture. I felt like many of them were hoarders and got off on taking the price of something down from $5 to $3. Made a couple hundred bucks and got rid of a bunch of junk.

Sunday: watched neckscar for the first time in years. Was kinda boring. Then I blew up the mange, discussing Juwan Howard’s “jive turkey” incident. I still can’t believe how many people fell for that.

Nice - delayed family Christmas gathering in Columbia because my son and his wife in Memphis were under a COVID quarantine during the actual family Christmas celebration.

Rough start however. My son and his wife were delayed flying out of Memphis, thus causing them to miss their connection in Atlanta. He was stuck in Atlanta Friday night, and couldn't get rescheduled until 5:00 PM Saturday afternoon (family get together was at noon on Saturday).

They were on a waiting list for a Saturday morning flight out (9:00AM) but they were #3 and #4 on the list.

They started talking to another man and his son who were also flying out of Memphis and had missed their connection to Columbia.

Come to find out the man and his son were #1 and #2 on the morning flight out. They were flying to Columbia to pick up a new truck and drive it back. They were called up to board and told the person at the deck they wanted to give their seats to my son and his wife because their trip was more important they his.

Complete strangers.

Merry (delayed) Christmas folks.
