Preferred walk-on offer goes out

I told you earlier this week about 2019 linebacker Bryce Mullenix out of Jacksonville. His dad Scott played at Alabama with Dabo, Lemanski Hall and Mickey Conn. Mullenix was injured last season and his lack of game film hurt his offer list, but he excelled at Swinney's camp this week. The coaches extended a preferred walk-on spot to Mullenix before he left camp.

We believe his offer list will continue to grow and he will get a look from several Power 5 schools as his senior season progresses. His dad told me Clemson will always be an option.

to the football program including housing with the team. there is no monetary benefit in it outside of cobbling other forms of financial aid to help pay tuition... it's not even nearly like a full ride; the benefits are greater than a general student walk-on but it definitely is not like a full ride... my nephew came in as a preferred walk-on...
I considered walking on to the basketball team but when I couldn't justify the time and energy with out the benefit of scheduling, training table, tutoring, financial aid, I decided against it...

I think he meant it's like a full ride because we often have a few transfer or a few schollies open for them to get a 1 year scholarship.

Congratulations to this young man! I won't ever forget the day Brad Scott walked into my high school coaches office and offered a preferred walk-on spot. Grew up a dawg (Dad is a diehard UGA fan). Coach Scott Sr. helped me see the light lol
