possibly... but its still okay if they have us at 5. Mich and OhSt play each other... UGA and Tenn play each other.
Win and we are in.. that is all there is to it.
We have a chance to add another ranked win next week... our resume' is plenty strong enough and will look great for Week 1 of CFP rankings as long as we dont lay an egg.

Unless the Michigan vs Ohio state is close an uga vs Tennessee is close and if bama beats Tennessee or uga in a close game.. it's possible clemson get left out bc of not looking as strong during the year..

Why do you think that is impossible? They were discussing a reasonable scenario with 3 SEC teams in the playoff possibilities LAST NIGHT. ESPN has the CFP and SEC broadcast rights. I would not be surprised to see them rate an one-loss SEC Champion above an undefeated ACC champion (it just means more). Yes, they also own the ACC rights, but they much more valuable property is the SEC.
As I have aged, I certainly have move more towards tin-foil hat, but I do not think there is NO chance that a undefeated Clemson gets left out. Heck, they want an expanded playoff. What better way to force it?

The fact is the media (and by extension, the AP Poll) have too much money invested in the SEC and B1G to encourage a discussion on the merits of other leagues, like the ACC. Their debate every Sunday morning is how much they can disrespect Clemson and not get laughed off the planet.
They would try to get 5 SEC teams in the top 4 if they could figure out the math.
Who is talking about the quality teams in the ACC? No one. But, hey, LSU looked great against Florida, right? Let's ignore the fact that FSU beat LSU. Or Missouri, the team that lost to Kansas State by 28 points, yet was within 1 play of beating UGA, eventually losing by 4. Bama got taken to the brink on the final play with Texas A&M, a team that lost to Appalachian State. But the narrative there was Texas A&M is good and always plays Bama tough. I saw weaknesses in Bama, and so did Tennessee, who is suddenly great because they are arguably as good as Appalachian State and ready to take on the world in the CFB.
There is blatant collusion with the AP polls. And it'll happen all the way up until the CFP committee meets and lays out their unbiased opinion on team rankings. This happens every year: Media will pump up those teams they're financially supporting in order to build up hype for the games they're broadcasting. This is the reward for being in the SEC: Your team will be hyped all summer, September and October. But when the CFP Poll comes out, you're on your own. By the time we're done with November, it won't matter. The discussion will once again be how to we get 2 or more SEC teams into the CFP.

Alabama had close wins against Texas and Texas A&M. The close loss to Tennessee is a drop in rankings.
Alabama's test will come in four weeks when the SEC East could be decided against Ole Miss.

I would say that looks about right because Michigan is a better team right now . They have a lights out D and their O is about the same as ours .

but I think Michigan will stay ahead of Tenn and Bama fall behind TCU. I've got:
UGA
Ohio St
Mich
Tenn
Clemson
TCU
Bama
Ole Miss
I feel very confident that we will be 5th. I could see Tenn or Michigan at 3, but I think Michigan blowing out Penn St will be enough for them to hold that spot over Tenn.
