Poll inconsistency (no real surprise)

Oct 19, 2014, 4:42 PM

Why is it when ND loses a close battle at #2 FSU, they only drop a few spots. But Clemson loses a close battle at #1 FSU and dropped like a rock? I get it, ours made us 1-2 and teams with that record aren't usually ranked, but if pollsters really looked at the games, both loses were on the road to upper ranked teams.

I'm not going into the whole "anti-Clemson" conspiracy theory, but I just find the whole polling process so maddening. Hopefully the playoff committee takes a deep dive into the actual team performances.

My guess (this year) is it was our second loss.

But I feel ya.

Well, one big difference is FSU had Winston last night.***

Maybe they did look at the game and they saw the heisman trophy winning QB from last year on the sideline.

Let's face it, if Winston plays in that game we lose by 2 or 3 scores with the way we played.

The way we played?

Imho, Jameis would have been on his blessed assurance as much as the qb we faced.

Our D was in their backfield all game.

Maybe because Jameis didn't play against the Tigers and FSU still won with a backup QB.
