When Texas LOST to Bama, they moved up in the rankings.

When Wake LOST to Clemson, they lose a spot in the rankings.

Mighty mighty SEC, it just means more, I guess.

While I do think there is bias in the polls, a good bit

Of poll movements are dictated by the outcomes of teams right around you. Afterall, it’s just an accumulation of points from where individuals have slotted you. Sometimes teams can be 5 spots lower and there is only 30 points separating all 5 teams. Other times you can have 4 teams clumped within 20 and the 5th team is 120 points back.

It becomes a self-fullfilling prophecy(if you will) for SEC teams.
The formula: Over-bloat sec teams ranking. Ensure a plethora are ranked based on beating fcs teams early season. When they play each other give them credit for playing a gauntlet team which in turn - keeps them ranked and "keeps the perception that every team is good"! The top of the league "really is that good" so when they win championships - the powers that be promote the idea that the entire league is that tough. Fans who only look at rankings/polls are fooled into thinking it's true because of the number assigned to a team; so the "progaganda machine keeps the perception up"!

But, yeah, you are correct. Total shame honestly; because this gets an ACC team ranked higher (hanging with a top 10 team). Whether one believes we are or not that's what the number in front of our name shows currently.
