Please Dabo hire from the outside for offensive coordinator

Inside hire for defensive coordinator I can see. Especially if Goodwin was Venables understudy preparing for the job. Venables defense worked so don’t fix what’s not broke.
But on offense fresh ideas and new blood would do Clemson good. Please hire a outside guy at this position. I trust Dabo and if streeter is the guy of course I’ll support him and Clemson in general. But I just feel eventually this hire from within system will come back to bite Dabo. I hope not only time will tell!

Since Dabo has not called me for advice I will accept whoever he decides to hire and hope for the best. We all know it takes a Team to win a NC not one coach or player. Go Tigers.

Do you realize that Streeter has been an OC. And his plays and playcalling were different than Elliot.
Elliot and Scott developed the offense we have seen recently.
We have a very limited idea of the style of offense Streeter will run.

I agree but it's not looking like that's going to happen. Let's hope Streeter can see the plays in the playbook that bombed and come up with something a bit more creative...and successful. Let's also hope improved OL and receiver play will bring DJ back to the 2020 version we all loved so much...

He could hire someone from the outside or some broken down HC that needs to re-jump their career like Saban but they will be gone in a year or two then we are right back where we are today. Wringing hands waiting for the team to walk away to the transfer portal all the recruits to decommit and wondering who the departing coach is going to take with him on the way out. He sees Streeter being around at least 3-4 seasons before he’s ready to consider leaving even if he’s highly successful for those years. That’s why Dabo promotes from within. Streeter might be the face of the offense but Dabo and the other coaches will have just as much to do with it as Streeter does.
