This is why I like college football over NFL.

Nope. It's good the way it is.

Jan 23, 2022, 10:03 PM

And if the toss would have been tails, you never call heads right?

You're catching on. It's always the coins fault

Jan 23, 2022, 10:06 PM

the way football was meant to be.

The fact it's basically decided on a coin toss is bad.***

Or defense if some teams had one. If not, I guess you do need to rely on the coin.

It's Terrible luck to call tails heding into overtime. When he called that, i just shook my head.

that nfl rule is trash though

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

~this~ not fair

Jan 23, 2022, 10:12 PM

no chance for other team if first one scores. Like College overtime rules.

Not true, just don't give up a TD. If you can't do that to start OT, do you deserve to win? Its a game of offense AND defense.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think the college OT rule should be adopted by the NFL.

Jan 24, 2022, 7:53 AM

At the very least, each team should get one offensive possession. Far too much rides on a total game of chance (coin flip) with the NFL's version.

Especially last nights game, neither team could stop the other at the end, think of what the fans got cheated out of by ending the game without the Bills even having a chance to answer again.

I agree. Plus, I would have liked to see Josh Allen get another shot on the field. Really hated to see him have to take an L like that considering he gift wrapped that game for Buffalo.

Here's to hoping Allen/Mahomes becomes the next Manning/Brady rivalry. That was really fun to watch as a football fan.

10 minute OTs. Highest score after OT wins.

It’s not that hard NFL.

Playoffs vs. regular season

Jan 24, 2022, 7:58 AM

I don’t mind this rule for a regular season game in October… when what’s at stake is more seeding than anything else.

But in the playoffs both teams should have ample opportunity to win the game. Because of their rule, they cut short what it could’ve been one of the most epic games in NFL history. And in the playoffs it’s about accomplishment and attrition.

Not many of y’all may be hockey fans but I live in Tampa and grow to love the sport

this is something the NHL getS right.

I know this has been the popular opinion on social media. But…

I totally disagree.

People are forgetting another rule:
You ARE allowed to play defense.

The coin toss did not decide the game.
The Bills not being able to stop the Chiefs decided the game.

Hey, I’m not a fan of the NFL at all. But I’ll defend them here.
They fixed it when they changed the rule so that a field goal could not win it on the first possession.
