I know Scar is a week away but its hard not to start the annual queasy stomach, pre-game feeling you get as the game approaches. I was thinking it used to not be this bad; we just KNEW we were going to win. Losing was a rare event and while still nervous there was usually not much doubt who was better. Now I always claim that we will kick some feathered butt but I realize now this is as much about hope as certainty.
If a 71 year old can be this tight about a game, what is going on in our kids' minds that actually have to play. I believe the past two years, when we were clearly the more talented team, this has been a problem; we were just too tight. We need to loosen up and play football; have some fun. We are so concerned that we might lose that we forget to play. Dabo needs to stress that we have the plan and the players (Yes, even without DW) to win this game and have fun doing it. Play smart, loose and have fun.
or as Heisman used to say, "Better to have died as a small child, than to fumble this football". As it has been all year, it is not who we play, but how we play. Go Tigers.
