So they can operate your pipeline from Russia but you cant. You cant manually override. You are too inept to keep have security to keep hackers out. You are the pipeline equivalent of a store who has to shut down due no power because everyone is to clueless to write up a sale manually.

internet? I think it started pumping gas in 1965. Pretty sure my phone is more powerful than all the computers on the planet at the time. It was done by hand, no internet. No computers.

Prime example of dumbing down through "smart" technology.

has their control systems air gapped from the regular internet. How the hades does a big pipeline like that not do the same?

I know it's cheaper to just use the web but come on man!

All these companies that buy into "use the cloud" are going to get screwed by stuff just like this.
