Picking out a Simpson pressure washer

Apr 2, 2021, 11:27 AM

Should I go with the 3400 psi with 2.3 gpm
Or the 3700 psi with 2.5 gpm

Go with the "Trenton" model of Simpsons.

It will be great from the start with the reviews showing that there is a huge upside as you learn how to use it moving forward.

No doubt the 3700 has the better engine, GX200 vs the GS 190

In all honesty, I was making a joke about Trenton Simpson who plays linebacker for Clemson because the post was on the football board.

I don't actually know the answer to your question or have any info to help you choose a pressure washer.

I do hope you get some info to help you.

No worries, I gave my honest opinion, and I have owned the Simpson pressure washer for 4-5 years, wait, I'll pull up the paperwork. Here you go, Thank you for your purchase! We hope you'll write about your MSH3125-S while it's still fresh on your mind. Sun, May 20 2018!!!

I bought this one, except mine was the 3300 psi.

I've have this same one and will second the recommendation

Apr 2, 2021, 2:27 PM

Mostly used for washing cars and cleaning driveway / walkways. It's great, I've never had a problem with it and after each winter it has never had a problem starting right up.

I will say don't store the tips your not using on it, mine always rattle off after a few mins, so just keep them elsewhere.

I have the honda engine, and after 4-5 years, it still starts with one or two pulls with choke pulled out when engine is cold!!!

I will say this, I use mine to wash both our vehicles, my Harley, and my Zero turn mower, and I use the white tip on my Harley, the green tip on the vehicles, and I would never use the orange or red tip on any of the above bc it would probably rip the paint off, seriously. The white is the softer spray tip, then it goes to green, orange, and red. The black tip is for siphoning cleaners or detergents. The black tip allows you to siphon the cleaner/detergents out of the bucket or a gallon jug onto whatever you're cleaning at a low pressure....

I bought Simpson PowerShot 3300PSI about 4-5 years ago, and it has been the best pressure washers I've ever had, and I've went through about 6 others different brands. I would recommend the 3400 psi bc my powershot 3300 has more than enough pressure, and use it to clean the concrete around my pool and everything else, and I've never wished I had more pressure. Plus, as I've said, the Simpson is the best one I've purchased by far!!!!

Like others have said I don’t think you need the more powerful model if you’re using it to clean a vehicle because you’re not gonna use peak pressure on the painted surfaces anyway. The difference comes in when you’re pressure washing your house. If you have a two story building you might want the more powerful motor.

Yep, and 3400 psi from a Simpson pressure washer is all the PSI power that he will ever need for any job around the home!!!!

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Any combination of slightly higher pressure AND increased

Apr 2, 2021, 1:49 PM

flow is better. I have a Karcher unit that is ~3400 psi at 3.8 gpm. That is just about a perfect balance for house or deck washing, and can be used to wash cars by using a bigger tip so that it lowers the pressure, if you so desired. I would never use it to wash my car anyway, that is a good way to "sandblast" your paint, which is not a good outcome at all.

They made it like you never have to put gas in it. Don't think they could have put the cap in a worse spot.

Make sure the nozzles are locked in correctly or you will never see it again, unless you break your neighbor's windshield.
