and it looks like a great day to jet boat..
so getting my skinny asse out of the camper van and putting the Boston-Whaler in, after securing the plug of course, and letting it rip!
Yes, life is still good @ 81 and JOE 21 knew & taught us it's not only good but viable & doable for at least 18 more years from my youthful & present landmark compared to his 99.9999!

Remember being there forty years ago for the Water Festival on my Granddaddy’s sailboat that he built. He attended 75 straight Rockville races and seldom missed the water festival. It was a fun and memorable trip on the boat ride from Chas. Have a friend that lives aboard a Mainship in Beaufort. Thanks LBB!

Love that spot! I have been going down to St. Helena Island(lands End) since the late 70's. I always like to take the "old bridge" there and back so I can check out that view!

I overslept and didn't leave church grounds til 6:50am (5:50 day b/4) but Reggie still wasn't there, so all good!
Back in SAV mid afternoon this Thursday and life from tranquil & beautiful little Beaufort is already missed as well as your surprise & welcomed visit.

Question about Your Mainship & live aboard friend.
I talked a sec Wednesday with a fellow on his docked Mainship at Beaufort's City Marina who was washing his high upper back deck porch. Probably way over 65 and maybe even 10 years older.
Boat was docked in 1st slip on left from the entry ramp.
Could this have been your Buddy?

For some reason, them dang sailboats can't all decide to go through that drawbridge at the same time on Fripp Saturdays (when a complete island full of people leave Fripp in the morning and go home through Beaufort, then another complete island full of people arrive in the afternoon). On weekdays, they open the bridge on a set schedule, but on weekends they'll open it anytime a sailboat approaches. Only 3 cars will cross the bridge, then they'll stop traffic to open it for the next boat. Traffic gets backed up for an hour in Beaufort on Fripp Saturdays throughout the summer. It didn't take me but once to figure out it's better to drive the extra 3 miles down to the Lady's Island Bridge on Saturdays to go up and over the sailboats.

Loved living on Lady’s Island. Fortunately I was stationed at PI and didn’t have to traverse the lil bridge.
