Petrino didn't say anythig too crazy, but if anything he

really only made a challenge to the Clemson fanbase. It's up to the folks in the seats the meet Petrino's challenge. That's all there is to that.
On the other hand, the things Petrino said have nothing to do with the football team. The football team obviously played an incredible game Saturday and should be commended. However, they have a much stiffer challenge on the field this Saturday.
Charlie Strong loaded the Cardinals up with good players, and Petrino has proven in the SEC he knows what he's doing. He is a very good coach.
I hope Clemson people aren't putting too much into Louisville's loss to Virginia, or their relatively middling schedule. They are a very talented team with a very good head coach, and if we think we're going to get the team that lost to UVA, then you got another thing coming.
We're going to have to play at level much higher than NCSU if we hope to be able to beat these guys.
Petrino will win a lot of football games at Louisville, and I think Clemson and Louisville will end up being a top-tier matchup for years to come. UL may not be far into his tenure and of course it take a little time to implement a system, but make no mistake, this is one of the best teams and coaches on our schedule. I really wish some folks didn't assume we're going to have an easy time with the Cardinals, even though I know that attitude doesn't affect the play.
I just hope, and I'm pretty sure Dabo will is aware and will touch on this tomorrow, Louisville has the potential now and will end up being one of the better teams in the ACC and the country. I don't know if they're quite there yet, but make no mistake, Petrino will have them ready, and we will get the best shot of a lot of highly skilled players and a very good coach. I like it.

is wildly outlandish and way off-base. Is that better?
But then again, it has ZERO to do with the play on the field. That's really the point here. It wasn't a factor for the football team in any way, shape, or form. Petrino's comments were not targeted at the football team, and as such I think people are making way too big of a deal about it.
If the fanbase is angered by his comments, then let's do something about it. Other than that, who cares?
To this point, I remember last year when we were going to break the dB record when FSU came to town. Pretty sure it ended up meaning absolutely nothing towards the football game.
Same deal here. Is that agreed, and is it okay with you?

Probably will give our players at least a tiny bump in motivation. And if our crowd is really into it, that does translate to the field IMO.

Petrino's run in SEC is way overblown
Oct 6, 2014, 7:47 PM

He had an NFL QB, a couple NFL running backs, and let's be honest...the SEC wasn't exactly what it is today while he was there.
Not concerned in the least.

I think LVL is the only place he stays for a length of time. They have a bank roll better than FSU, academic requirements are a joke for the ACC and they will try to win at all costs. Perfect place for a good coach with no morals and an ego the size of the state of KY. He's not going anywhere else, especially if he's winning...and he'll win a lot.

Shane: You are clueless about football. Where the heck did you learn something about the game? This Louisville team will get humbled in DV. by the score of 48-10 or 14. You really need to by my book--The ABC's of football because clearly your ability to analyze any game is totally missing. The line is Tigers minus 11. I'll take all you want to give me so put up or shut up!

Louisville will not be "humbled" by the crowd. Hopefully they will be humbled by the football team.
You're a ####. De facto that means you know nothing about football.
Secondly, speaking about humility, you would think cocking two games away in the 4th quarter would have taught you to shut your beak, but alas, your clear insanity prevents you from such common sense. Oh well.
