"Perception" almost got the Dawgs into the Playoffs

Apr 20, 2019, 9:09 AM

last year.

That's why you fight "perceptions" with facts.

If Team A is "perceived" to have a weak schedule, they get "zero" room for error.

Meanwhile, Team B and Team C, whose schedule isn't much better, but is perceived to be strong, get's lots of room for error ... 2 possibly 3 games of error.

I'm picking up what you are laying down!

And, though I don't care so much about what they say about CU schedule/conference, I do believe perception hinders/hurts too much.
With the perception of the ACC which went 7-5 during bowl season ( even with a bowl game cancelled ), the SEC went 6-5 including some embarrassing losses(u of suc and jaw ja). Had CU dropped a game we would likely not have gotten in. And how wrong would that have been having the "only team" that could beat bamer not in the playoffs?

Two years ago - 9-3 during bowl season 7-5 this past year tells me the "perception" of the ACC being weak is overblown a bit! Mainly b/c those traditional powers FSU, Miami, VT are down. I think Cuse has stepped it up and done a fine job representing the other spot beneath CU. Nan C St just can't string it together long enough to be consistent. But, they have routinely been ranked.
Perception almost got UGA in - thankfully it didn't! The Texas is back talk would never have gotten the kick start it needed w/o the dawgs getting "bovined" in the bowl game!

It's because not one of us is nearly as good at assimilating and analyzing information as we think we are.

Remember, the sec least is known as that for a reason. It is mind boggling that ugay can play in that weak division, play bammer close twice, have a number 1 recruiting class once and they are all of a sudden an elite team. The sports media are idiots.

Still stunning to me that they almost talked a 2 loss team,

with a 20 point blowout loss, into the playoff, when another conference team was already in. And their main arguing point was that they played Alabama a close game! Wow!

The hilarious part is that when Georgia played them close, Bama was regarded as the best team "EVER"...which provided "EVIDENCE" that Georgia as just as "ELITE" and should be considered for the playoffs because they "ALMOST WON!"....

Then Clemson smashes Bama into thousands of tiny elephant animal crackers and....

"Well there were holes all over that Bama D, Tua wasn't 100% with that knee, they were distracted...Clemson got ND in the playoffs"

I tell ya....I freakin love it!

Notre Dame’s defense was as good, if not...

Apr 20, 2019, 11:58 AM

better than bama from what I saw in our CFP games. I think it would have been a close game between bama and Notre Dame. And it was clear to me that the butt sniffers were overrated all season long. They were exposed by a average Texas team that wasn’t as good as Notre Dame. So I really wish that they HAD made it in over Notre Dame... then we could humbled the entire phony baloney SEC dominance argument in one fell swoop.

Do we really know that?

Did the committee chairman come out and say they almost put Georgia in the playoff? I don't recall hearing that.
