I think he will have to basically clean house and they use that as an excuse to give him another year and finish out his contract. What I wouldn't understand about that is basically hiring guys for one year unless they hire a guy they believe could take it over, bc the new coach will more than likely bring his own staff.
Could be wrong and hope I am wrong but just have a bad feeling. I know its only one year but this program needs a change NOW.

Fire a coach who has had as much success over such a long time at Clemson. I hope they can work out a way that Jack steps aside and still has a role in the program. This will give us the best chance to hire a former assistant of Jack's. When Bill Wilhelm was asked to step outside he did so in a gracious and classy way hopefully Jack will do the same.

I disagree, DRad had "The talk" about the direction of the program last year... then this year was worse. Not sure how you dont make a move after that order of events.
I think they will announce Jack's retirement shortly after the end of the season once they have the replacement lined up and then we can remember the good years and hopefully they make the right choice for the future.
