Peake loss is pretty big

Sep 11, 2013, 11:03 PM

As most of you have seen the last few years he generally comes up with big catches at big times. Auburn in 2011 at home big 3rd down play. Georgia this year on 3rd down. He was the 2nd most consistent WR behind Watkins. All eyes are on Bryant to step up and become that other option. Thankfully the little depth we have are all great players but it always hurts losing a top WR with the experience and big time plays of Peake

I'm afraid it's bound to hurt us some.***

I definitely agree that losing Charone is a huge loss. However, I think that MB will step up and be solid for us and then we have Adam Humphries who is also very much a possession receiver a la Ricky Proel. We also have some young but very talented guys who will contribute. I know it was against SC State, but looking at the plays that Germone Hopper made he will be an impact player for us. Also don't forget about Mike Williams. We are loaded with a great stable,of receivers right now and will certainly miss Peake for the rest of this year on the field. I get a sense that he will continue to make a contribution with these younger receivers even as he is rehabbing. Get well, Charone.

You guys have to have some faith in our other WRs. Don't get me wrong, losing Peake for the season sucks but we have 5 other wide-outs we can count on, 6 if you put Sammy there but we already know what he can do. Losing Peake sucks but I have faith in our other boys to fill that void and lead us to a special season this year.

making big catches Peake was one of those guys. Thankfully we have other guys that are capable but Peake was starting and playing more than hump or bryant last few years for a reason.

I also agree but we have one thing going for us. Time to

adjust. Imagine if it happened a few days before FSU or Coot game. We'll miss him out there but think the others can step it up in time for the really big games.

It really only hurts us on the deep balls. Humphries is just as good if not better than Peake everywhere else. Dude is like a bigger version of Wes Welker.
