I have to say, I'm a little worried about Watson and our OL going up against their front 7. We looked awful against them last year on offense with a more experienced OL, and that included when Watson was in. UofL also held Auburn to something like 320 yards (which may not be that big a deal, judging by how bad Auburn's SEC-Heisman candidate QB has looked).
The good news is, I don't think UofL has found an offensive identity yet. They did nothing against Auburn in the first half of their game, but they were able to run it pretty well (which may not be saying much, given how bad Auburn's defense looked against Jacksonville St.). But they could barely run it at all on Houston, and ended up passing it a bunch and turning it over.

Saw quite a few holes on the left side of our defense Saturday. I know it's early, but that concerns me.

Exactly, when the A -team is out on the field we have a pretty solid D. 1st team Online will be ready to go on Thursday. Our guys will be fired up. Can't wait for Thursday night.

The 2's and 3's got a lot of PT Saturday. They need it.
Even at that, you won't see changes like that in real games. You'll see the LB 2's with DL 1's and the LB 1's with the DL 2's. Doesn't matter with the DB's . It's different substituting the whole D at one time and just substituting positions to give breathers to keep the 1's fresh.

They only returned 4 starters off that defense, and i think

they had something like 6 defensive players drafted. A lot like us except they haven't recruited as well as we have and the man that coached those guys up is in Texas now.
Their D will probably still be solid, but not like the one we faced last season.

Interesting...if you go on a Louisville Card bored, you'll see their fans thinking the exact opposite of their D this year. Don't forget, they lost Lorenzo Mauldin (their main linebacker) and 3 other starters.

Their defense is tough and frankly a little bit dirty. I am worried they are going to hit low etc.
I don't think that offense will be able to put up more than 17 without gifts though.

Play more than 2 quarters ? DW and company have been out on the field in the 3rd quarter in both games.

Dabo always plays the first string offense coming out of the second half even in blowouts to get them used to coming back in after the break. Schuessler was in for two of the six first-half drives against Wofford and took over after the first drive in the second half.
