Last in the ACC? Don't bet on it
One ACC writer has already penciled in the Clemson basketball team for a last place finish next season, but with the continued growth of players like Rod Hall, Damarcus Harrison and Landry Nnoko, don't count on a last place finish. Full Story » |

"Despite how much the media in NC wants it to happen"

Come on DH, it's one guy and the NC media doesn't respect us enough in basketball to hate us.
I like our team coming back and see anywhere in the ACC from 7-11 and 11-7 depending on the schedule and how the close games fall. Hopefully the non-ACC schedule gets beefed up some and we win the close ones so at 10-8 in the ACC a bid is possible.

They also don't respect Clemson enough to evaluate the Tigers fairly.

Good point. They just throw us last bc they have no interest in actually evaluating the team fairly.

I received an email with this as the Clemson ACC basketball schedule for next year. Not sure if this is final but it looks correct.

The NC media could care less where Clemson finishes unless -

... unless, their rise in the pecking order threatens one of the Tobacco Road schools in general and UNC/Duke specifically.
The Tar Heel media is perfectly happy with a Clemson program that rises above their humble roots. As long as they remember who is in charge of the conference.
There is no overt conspiracy to keep Clemson down ... honestly Clemson has done a super job of that all by themselves .. but ... let Clemson win the ACC tournament and begin to threaten to displace one of the "Big Four" and you'll see a far different attitude.
Oh well, who cares. We have to rise to a position that sets all this in motion and that's up to us.

Clemson has very seldom ended up last in the ACC, in spite

in spite of how ineffective we have been versus the conference historically. We don't win it, but we also hardly ever finish in the basement.
It's frequently popular with the media to make what appears to be the easy projection and put Clemson last pre-season, but it almost never actually plays out that way.
Now ... when some wag projects us to WIN the ACC and turns out to be right, then THAT will be news!!

Paul Schenkel's departure from the News Herald

Stupidity and laziness are not in short supply on the staff over at the News Herald. I predict it will lead to an early departure for Paul Schenkel as the paper tries to upgrade its credibility among readers.
