Patience, development and coaching will be key......

IMHO, this team is going to be fine but we will need our Defense to continue to play lights out and continue to develop depth. BV got a new contract this offseason and he appears to be dialed in on being the best again. I'm sure he sees the limitations on the offensive side and realizes how important it is for the D to hold down the fort until the Offense figures out their calvary. Saw a lot of quality young players, esp LB, playing yesterday - #54 IS A GROWN MAN!

I also think that we as fans to lighten up on DJ and I know it's just a minority if us but this kid IS NOT DW4 nor TLAW and will most likely NEVER be those players. He's just a different type of player. The only thing that's a little concerning to me is that he doesn't SEEM to have that "Dawg" in him that you have to have to be uber successful at that position. Maybe its because he's just Cali Cool or whatever but the elites separate themselves not only based on physical talent but mental as well. Comparing him to the other two isnt fair because he's not there yet and, watching him, he might never be there and that's OK, we can still win championships as long as the coaches find what he can do well, focus on that and make him the best version of himself. That being said, we NEED to really work on the run game and not be one dimensional given our passing limitations. We have some EXPLOSIVE backs, we just need to continue working on getting them more touches and see what happens. Also, Lynn J needs to do whatever to get out of the doghouse and start contributing else he's nothing more than a distraction, another DK, another classic waste of talent.

We have a lot of senior leadership on Defense and that really helps. Keep working on the OL and running the ball and bring DJ along as best you can. Maybe we get a Skalski step up on offense to be a leader. Dont think it's going to be Ross, DJ or any of the backs (not yet anyway) but, maybe Ngata? Lot of football left and as Al Davis said, JUST WIN BABY! Do that, by 1 or 100 and it all come together in Jan!

DJ's inaccuracy must improve to beat better competition (playoffs). Thankfully, the entire schedule is so weak we've plenty of time to coach him up. Just seems like something is off vs what we saw in last year's Notre Dame game. Yesterday's overthrow to Ross in the endzone was terrible along with the Int.

Great WRs and RBs will mask some of the inaccuracy (Ngata's sideline catch) but the kid has got to get better quickly. Good to hear the accountability post-game but this is a game of results and his second year in the program. He's not DW4 or Trevor, but man you gotta make the easy throws.

We're going to find out how good a coach Streeter is.
