Tons of empty seats in sections 130-132 directly behind a packed student section.

My son got there 1.5 hours before tip. No student tickets left so he had to buy one. I agree about letting students fill the empty seats!!

I kept thinking we should upholster the club seats with images of people so the empty seats would look better on TV.
Since tickets are bar coded, we should be able to identify and reissue those seats if no one has shown up ten minutes into the game.

Many club level ticket holders watch the game from the club area. There are tall tables and chairs along the rail. I agree it doesn’t look good but those people are there and are using their tickets. Don’t think you can admit two people on one ticket.

More like 3-4 per table. I estimate at least

12 tables and a dozen or more people standing and milling around. Those people at the tables are parked for the whole game.

Yep ... "Sellout" and "Full House" are completely different

Using the term "sell out" to try to convey the size of the crowd is ironic, because in doing so, the AD is indeed ... selling out.

Anywhere the TV camera focuses on 90% of the time should

... be completely filled at all times with the most raucous students.
They don't need seats. They just need risers with no aisles creating the appearance of empty spaces on camera.
And get the team benches back on the far side of the court, on camera.
Why is it so hard for us to comprehend the obvious example set by Duke for creating a positive image via TV coverage of their student section?
Make the big donors feel super comfortable and well taken care of ... off camera!

I agree about moving the team benches to the other side of the court. My family who lives away and watches on TV comments every game about the cameras being on the backs of our guys heads on the bench.

The AD needs to change the layout / arrangement at Littlejohn to create the best home court advantage and atmosphere possible. I’m not sure why they don’t see this - maybe bc they don’t watch the TV broadcast. The look is bad.

Give those seats to students if they can’t come to game? Surely if there isn’t an APP can’t someone make one

Not a bad idea really..
I think what is needed is an easy way to transfer (donate) your tickets to the student Will Call. Students with an ID, could pick up a ticket after the regular allotment has been exhausted. It would be stamped STUDENT ONLY to prevent resale, etc.
Clemson should have it's own "StubHub" type ticket marketplace system, without fees or reliance on the actual StubHub. Folks could list their tickets for sale. Other IPTAY members would get priority to purchase them, before open to public. If the tickets do not sell by game time, they would automatically transfer to will call (if that option is selected).

I love how the club level season ticket holders are getting

blamed for poor turnout, during the first game when students actually showed up to support the team.
Most of our students didn't bother to show up until yesterday, when it was a sunny January day, with no exams, no football, no holidays, or any other of the usual excuses for them not showing up? Oh, and it was a game with two top 20 teams playing. Where were they for ANY of the other games we've played since November? All they have to do is walk across campus and get their free ticket.
Don't get me wrong, yesterday was a great job by our students in showing up, supporting our team, and being loud. But I'm going to need to see more consistent support from our students before they are allowed off the hook.
Whoever mentioned Duke above, give me a break. Their students consistently show up and are loud, whether they are playing a ranked team or a nobody. And they also have exams, holidays, etc.
With all of that said, it is unfortunate that there were so many club level seats empty yesterday. I am willing to give them a little bit of a break, since they pay a lot for their tickets. If not for them, we wouldn't have a new Littlejohn. However, they do need to show up and be loud. I like the idea of some sort of a system whereby season ticket holders must either use their tickets or notify the ticket office that they will not be there so that their seats can be used by someone else. I don't see why there can't be a rule where season ticket holders get punished somehow for not using their tickets (i.e., either they sit in their seats, or notify Clemson as soon as possible - even if it is just before the game - that they aren't coming). Either of these would count as "showing up."

The athletic dept can tell if tickets sold through IPTAY have actually been used. We have purchased only single game b-ball tickets this season, but still got the "Thank you for your attendance" email.

Club level ticket holders should either show up, or, if they don't plan on being there, donate their tickets to the local community 1st, then, if no interest there, release them to students. Another option would be to, similar to what they do in the NCAA tourney (NCAA does not want empty seats around the court---bad for TV): seat fillers. If the Club ticket holders want to hang out upstairs for awhile, allow students, held in a SRO area, to go down and sit in Club seats until the rightful owner decides to return to their seats.

I also hate that the TV cameras are positioned on the wrong side.

You can’t see the bench anymore. And you’re right about the empty seats. It looks horrible on tv. Anything you see in tv should always be full. Meaning if they are club seats it needs to be on the opposite side where u can see from tv cameras.
A lot of these things are supposed to be thought out prior to construction.

The student section should be visible on TV. At Duke, they film from behind the team benches but have the students visible on camera. There is no reason why we couldn't have done it that way.
