Parking

Aug 13, 2019, 2:07 PM

We have parked in Lot 2 for ever and have been coming in from Central which we could stay on 93 the entire way. I will now be coming the other direction from Seneca and it appears that one way starts/stops at Perimeter Road and I will not be able to get to the lot from this direction without instead going downtown. If anyone coming in this way and parks in lot 2 is this correct and is there any other way other than staying on 123 and through downtown, thanks in advance.

If they don't open 93 to Centennial Blvd, all of us in Seneca are screwed.

Yea, that's brutal if true! One way to avoid it is to get there early before they switch traffic.

I'm in Lot 1, and have had to cut up behind the Esso Club in the past, but most games I'm there long before they switch traffic.

I would be surprised if there was not a way to get into Lot 2 from the Seneca side, last year we would come in from that side and you could still go straight along 93 past Perimeter Road to Centennial since pregame traffic is not one way unless something changed. I know their parking flow map shows differently but I think this is the same one from last year so I'm not sure.

Regardless, if it is actually closed off then you could take Seneca Creek out to Cherry Road and come in the back way. Would take longer but is an option. For the GT game traffic should be trickling in all day so I'd go in along 93 to Perimeter normal and let them direct you and feel it out.

That's the map I saw. I know the State Patrol directs traffic but I called the City and University Police, although very nice they were not much help with a definitive answer. I hope the map is incorrect but thanks for the input and ideas.

Like CU13 said, as long as you aren't going in less than 2 hours prior to kickoff I doubt the two-way traffic will be closed off. That is really only a concern pregame for nooners since everyone is cramming in around the same time.

FWIW, I believe it's at least 3 hours before the game (9am for a noon game), but not 100% sure. I know I got caught by it one game last season, and I know I was there before 10am.

I think Jason Wilson with IPTAY would know what the traffic patterns will be. He deals with all things traffic/parking on gamedays.
