To summarize: Miami's basketball transfer said that NIL was the last reason who went with Miami ?. Their booster John Ruiz claims they do not go after players but instead a player's agent calls them to learn about their NIL. Basically their agent calls Ruiz to ask how much will you pay us. ?

It's clear the only thing that can be done about this is federal legislation. You would think there are enough smaller market schools throughout the country to get something done to eliminate paying recruits for their commitments.

I expected nothing else when the Genie was let out of that bottle. I fully expected widespread abuses, and we all will watch and see the wealthy get richer, and the poor fight over the scraps. It's the secheat on steroids.

Notre Dame director of athletics Jack Swarbrick is not pleased with the way name, image and likeness (NIL) has unfolded in the last year.


Interesting article where Swarbrick admits this was screwed up by college athletics. They didnt think it would come online with no regulation. Ncaa cant/wont do anything because they lose every lawsuit. Nil is pretty much just talent acquisition payments. Doesnt think it will be resolved unless congress does something about it. SAD state of affairs.
