Our Offensive Line

Don’t look now, but our offensive line next year and the following is going to be elite, likely new stratosphere’s of elite. We have the #5 OT for 2020, and the #4, #5, and #8 OG’s for 2020.

In 2021 we have the current #1 OC and the #17 OT. And we’re not done yet.

This is one feature that is potentially overlooked in our modern Clemson teams. Our trench guys on the offensive side are now on or getting to the same level as the rest of our position recruitment. And this is bad news for the rest of CFB.

I've said it for many years that the OL has been the missing linc to really reaching the greatness we all strive to attain. We finally are arriving, and this thing is going to be so fun. Can't wait to enjoy this long and very special ride.

What’s really important is the reps our 2 and 3 deep are getting. It’s a great class coming in but rare for OL to start year one. Hyatt was one that did but he was more an exception to the rule.

This! Just the correct strength that's needed, instead of just raw strength, agility and learning proper technique are what makes a great OL. That usually takes time, even for the gifted ones. I think we started Hyatt, not just because he was that good out of HS, but rather because he was the best we had at the time. Glad things are different now.
