Our offense looks like last years

Sep 10, 2022, 7:28 PM

I can’t tell if it’s the scheme or DJ or all of the above. Something is just not clicking. Did Jeff Scott leaving affect WR’s that much?

Brandon’s offense looks no different. I watch other games and there’s som much more creativity. Just amazes me.

When players drop passes or mysteriously break off routs causing interceptions it's not the fault of the scheme. The players just aren't making the plays.

Good first half performance. Asleep in the second half.

This offense is ridiculously predictable and has been for quite a while. We lack creativity and will not get back to being a great offense until we open things up and quit running the same plays in the same order for a dominant portion of our offensive series. I loved the way the Furman OC created opportunities with less talent.

It's not Jeff Scott. I understand there are significant problems with the teams. However, just throwing stuff against the wall to find "the reason" is just foolish.

Everything's bad. DJ is a good pocket passer playing in a system not designed for him. Cade is brand new and the line seemed to be even worse when he was in the game. The offensive line is horrible. One of the worst in college football. Every one of them should be benched. We didn't recruit any speedsters at receiver in favor of 6'3" possession guys, but they struggle catching the ball. And we have a very elementary, vanilla playbook (that's been roundly mocked by experts) and poor playcalling and adjustments.

The playbook hasn't roundly been mocked by experts. Robert Griffin III made the one comment last year. The reason the playbook was vanilla at that time was that there were a lot of injuries, and the quarterback wasn't playing well. When that happens, your playbook has no choice but to be vanilla.
