Jul 26, 2014, 11:16 AM

Calling it right now!!!

Drum roll please.....

Offense: Jordan Leggett! Will be in the Mackey award conversation

Defense: Tony Steward!! Barring injury will finally give us what we've been longing to see....the reincarnation of Jeff Davis!

What say you T-netters??

Go Tigers!!!!

Agree! Plus many more!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Many people see Leggett better than Sekinger and i just

Jul 26, 2014, 11:28 AM

don't see it.Sekinger seems quicker, faster and better hands and if he adds 15 pounds could do the type of things D.Allen did at Clemson.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

and right now, coop is the starter. if cu is determined to

Jul 26, 2014, 11:32 AM

run more, it'll be hard to unseat coop if he stays healthy.

Re: and right now, coop is the starter. if cu is determined to

Jul 26, 2014, 11:42 AM

I agree. Coop at least has the size and strength, and is a decent receiver. Even Legett needs to be 10 to 15 pounds heavier, but apparently hasn't done it. Hard to understand the number of players who come into our program never seem to gain a pound.

Watson's gained 20 since he's been here

Jul 26, 2014, 11:46 AM

And Josh Watson has beefed up too. It's just silly to say no one gains weight.

Clemson

in fact, if you listen to dan brooks, the staff was upset

Jul 26, 2014, 11:54 AM

with josh because he added weight before last year which set him back & limited his playing time because he couldn't carry it[also led to his back problems]. brooks went further to say josh was given bad advice by someone outside the program and if the "nfl/next level" wanted him to carry the additional weight down the road that's fine, but he ain't doing it at clemson. the staff puts a premium on movement.

it's a short response from the dabo's gold media days, but very telling.

here's the video, if you want a good listen to how they tweak these guys, i think brook's comments on josh watson are as good as any. i know coach caldwell touched on battle on the oline as well...

the comments on josh start around 1:45, 1:46 mark.

leggett has put on 20-25 lbs of muscle & completely reshaped

Jul 26, 2014, 11:50 AM [ in reply to Re: and right now, coop is the starter. if cu is determined to ]

his body & the baby fat he had as an early entry.

i've seen your posts on others who have gained muscle mass as well, like vic beasley? you can't stretch skin much more than he has and he was 205-215 as a freshman.

Re: Many people see Leggett better than Sekinger and i just

Jul 26, 2014, 11:37 AM [ in reply to Many people see Leggett better than Sekinger and i just ]

Seckinger is too light to be an effective tight end. And to my knowledge hasn't added on the needed bulk and strength, despite several years in the program. Consequently, he's one-dimensional in that he doesn't block well. Seems he'd be a better fit at WR.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Sekinger has actually added about 20 pounds since hes

Jul 26, 2014, 11:46 AM

been at Clemson, maybe even a few more than that.Remember he was a skinny 185 pound WR when he signed. My point was "IF"he could get to about 245 he has all the skill sets to thrive in our offense. Also believe he's a tad bit biggerthan Leggett.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

agree, seck's got some nice tools.***

Leggett is faster than Sekinger both are great players though.

The one I want to see as breakout player is Cole!! the rest will be gravy.

Re: Our breakout players will be......

Jul 26, 2014, 11:44 AM

I'd like to see the OL "breakout." The rest would take care of itself.

I'm going with a name i haven't heard in months: Boulware***

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Mike Williams, Mackenzie Alexander, Cole and DJ Howard

Jul 26, 2014, 12:35 PM

honorable mention to Leggatt, Kearse and Tavaris Barnes

Re: Mike Williams, Mackenzie Alexander, Cole and DJ Howard

Jul 26, 2014, 12:39 PM

I think if hopper would get his head out his #### he could be the breakout player on the offense.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Cole stoudt***

Jul 26, 2014, 1:03 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Hopefully Leggett and Alexander

Jul 26, 2014, 1:33 PM

Also, i think Shaq Lawson could be better than Crawford at some point this season. I don't know if he will ever supplant him as starter, but i wouldn't be surprised to see those 3 guys (3rd being Beasley obviously) get pretty close to equal snaps.

Re: Our breakout players will be......

To be honest, I'm really looking for Artavis Scott to be true freshman all American.

I think Georgia currently has 10 breakout players.***
